Well, I Never!

Target
  • 2 Glade Fabric and Air Sprays $3.49 each, used BOGO coupon (5/10 SS) and two $2 Target hangtag coupons (found on the bottles) = $0.51 profit *Gave BOGO coupons first
  • Swiss Tea $2, used $1 coupon and will submit for Try Me Free rebate (5/17 SS) = $1 profit
  • Total was $0.84

Pathmark

  • 5 newspapers $1.50 each
  • Entenmann's crumbcake (my achilles heel - see? its already nibbled on!) $2.50
  • 4 Marcal toilet papers $0.89 each, used four freebie coupons (5/3 SS) = FREE
  • Used two $5 catalinas, total was $0.60

Then my boyfriend bought:

  • 1 paper $1.50
  • 4 Marcal toilet papers $0.89 each, used four freebie coupons (5/3 SS) = FREE
  • Total was $1.35

My boyfriend and I had also hit up another Target where I found a ton more of the Target Glade coupons. I attempted to buy 10 Glades, Swiss Tea and some Gatorade. The cashier scanned my BOGO coupons and was halfway through the Target coupons when she determined that I'd used enough. She called over another coupon-challenged cashier to back her up and they told me I couldn't use any more Target coupons. I said that it was Target's policy to allow use of a manufacturer's coupon and a Target coupon on one item. Cashier #2 says to me - "we work here, I think we'd know what the policy is" (obviously not!). I asked for my coupons back and said I wouldn't be buying anything. As we walked away, one of the cashiers said "What a bitch." I didn't hear it - my boyfriend told me what he'd heard after we'd left the store. I plan on calling the store manager shortly. I don't care quite so much about them not letting me use coupons, I'm pretty used to that at Target. But I surely don't appreciate being called names. Rude!

OH NO SHE DID-INT!!

I loved her childlike response too....."I work here, I *THINK* I know what the policy is..." HA! I can just picture a snotty 9 year old saying something like that. :-)

Let us know how you make out w/the store manager

OMG I think I would have come unglued if a cashier said that. I just had a similiar problem at target a few weeks ago( there is a LONG thead on AFC about it) Definatetly call the manager and follow up! That is unacceptable!

I hope you remember their name so you can report them for inapropriate behaviour.

That cashier sure had some nerve! I'd gone back in and talked with a manager immediately. There's no excuse for that kind of behavior! Please let us know what happens.

I sure hope you go back and open a can of whoop-ass on them!

I've had a bad experience at Target recently too. I've spent the last 2 weeks returning everything I ever bought there that I still have a receipt for.

I can live a perfectly fine life never having to go into that place ever again.

Chicagolandia - so sorry! I accidently hit reject instead of publish your comment:

"That was incredibly rude. I've dealt with some immature/rude/ignorant cashiers - but this one takes the cake. I can't wait to here how the follow up goes!"

Thanks all for your support! I haven't had a chance to call the store yet, but I will and I'll let you know what happens.

Why do people always have to call names? I just don't get it. I'm sorry she was so rude to you and you definitely should let the manager know.

I was at Ikea for the Memorial Weekend sale and it was a complete and total zoo. My BF went to get the truck while I waited for a spot in the loading area. I had my cart already in the spot when a lady tried to direct her husband in their car into the spot. I had been waiting for 10 minutes for that spot and I told her so and she still tried to direct him into it. She said she was there first, which I quickly disputed by describing everything purchased by the person previously in the spot and finally just asked her to get her sh*t out of the spot. Well.... that evolved into her and the 4 people she was with screaming at me and calling me a b*tch and a fat*ss, which was extremely humiliating. While I should have kept my cool better, I didn't make it personal and they did. There are times when I think I will never go shopping ever again but then good deals come up and I'm right back at the store.

simplysara,
Holy cow! Talk about them totally overreacting and being obnoxious! That reminds me of my college days, trying to find a parking spot before class - not pretty.
