Grillin' Hot Deals

So da boyfriend and I have been watching what we've been spending, trying to build up our savings.  I went to Target today on the hunt for some clearance finds and came across a fantastic deal on a barbecue.  I just couldn't pass it up, so I bought it, wrangled it into the car and drove it home.

I came home to find DBF making dinner (love that) and calmly asked him not to be mad that I'd bought something we didn't need.  I explained to him that it was on clearance and we got a huge markdown.  "How much?" he asked warily.  "One forty seven" I replied softly.  He groaned, "babe we can't afford that much money right now!"  Me - "I know, I know, but it was such a great deal, I just couldn't let it go."  He started asking some details - "is it propane or charcoal?"  Me - "charcoal".  Him - "we could have bought one at Lowes or somewhere for a lot cheaper than one forty seven, but ok, we'll figure something out."  See why I love this guy?  Me - "do you want to see it at least?"  Him - "yeah ok, let me just finish up making this chicken."

He told me about his day, the goofy stuff Gigi and Shadow were doing this afternoon and we gabbed while he finished breading the chicken.  Then I brought him downstairs to check out the BBQ...

GOTCHA!  Its a tabletop charcoal BBQ that I got on clearance for (wait for it)....$1.47!!!!  Got him good this time!  hahahahahahahaha  I love that he had all that time while finishing up the cooking to think about how foolish I was to spend all that money on a grill.  Hilarious!

I literally did a little happy dance in the store when I found this.  The blue and green ones are on clearance according to other folks who've found them too.  As always, clearance varies from store to store, but many are getting rid of their summer stuff.  Be on the lookout for Reynolds Grill foil - deep clearance on that if you can find it.
Target - here's what I also picked up:

  • McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract $1.64 (clearance)
  • Market Pantry Pure Vanilla Extract $1.48 (clearance)
  • 4 Nestle Chocolate Chips $1.14 each (clearance)

I found brown sugar clearanced at a different store a week or so ago.  Many stores have been marking down baking items and spices.

Rite Aid

  • Marc Anthony Easy-Lites $5.99, got back $2 UP (Limit 2) and will submit for TMF peelie rebate, Valid "before 8/31/12" so I assume that means buy it on or before 8/30) = $2 profit
  • Thumb Tacks $0.67 ($2.69, 75% clearance), got back $1 UP (household items, Limit 2) = $0.33 profit
  • Assorted Small Screws $0.72 ($2.89, 75% clearance), got back $1 UP (household items, Limit 2) = $0.28 profit
  • Used $3 UP and $4 UP, total was $0.90
Separately and on another card, I bought:

  • 2 Gillette Custom Plus 3 Razors $5.99 each ($7.49 reg price, 20% discount), used two $2 coupons (7/1 P&G) and got back two $4 UP's (Limit 2) = FREE/$0.02 profit *This is the same deal as the Venus razors this week
  • 2 Assorted Small Screws $0.72 each ($2.89, 75% clearance), got back two $1 UP's (household items, Limit 2) = $0.56 profit
  • 3 Schick Hydro Shave Gels $2.50 each, used three $1 coupons (6/10 SS) *Counts towards a spend $15, get $7 UP promo this week.  Once I buy another three, I'll have spent $9.50 (I have four $1 coupons and two $0.75 ones from the paper) and I'll get back $7 UP - making this $2.50 or $0.41 each
  • Used a whole mess of UP's, total was $3.61

Price Chopper

  • 2 Snapple 12 packs $6.99, used $2 off 2 iSave coupon and will use towards $10 Heineken NBPR rebate on $10.01 of nonalcoholic drinks (HKNNA040) = $1.98

  • Ronzoni Garden Delight Pasta $1.99, $0.25 with coupon = $0.25
  • Strawberries $2.99, used $1 Hannaford coupon = $1.99
  • Used $2 off $20 coupon, total was $14.21
Had an awesome cashier who was very happy to see my free Edy's coupon.  She said they don't actually need the coupons, just the code to enter into the system.  She mentioned there was a coupon out there for free PC cookies and that I could go grab some if I wanted and she'd enter in the code.  Isn't that so sweet?  The cookies were $1 regular price, anyone seen that coupon out there?

You Gotta Try This Polish

ShopRite

  • 4 Marcal Napkins $1.74 each, used four $1 coupons (4/15 RP) = $0.74 each
  • 3 Turkey Hill Ice Creams $1.99 each
  • 2 Borden American Cheese Singles $0.88 each
  • Total was $11.26
Stop & Shop

  • 5 Barilla Pastas $1 each, got $2 instant savings/sale (WYB 5) = $3 or $0.60 each
  • ICBINB $2.50, used $1.25 coupon (from coupons.com - goes away, comes back...) = $1.25
  • Strawberries $1.99
  • 6 Crystal Lites - clearanced to $1 each
  • Total was $13.98
I had $1 off 2 Crystal Lite coupons at home.  Thinking about bringing them in the next time I stop by to see if they'll give me an adjustment.  If not, that's fine - $1 each is a great price.
I've heard about folks finding clearanced Nordic Ware baking items at Target for ages but wasn't able to find anything until this weekend.  I'm pretty sure this is from Christmas - $4.98 down from $9.99.
How cool is this nail polish!  Its Sally Hansen Magnetc Polish!  You put on a first coat, let that dry, put on a second coat and then hold the bottle top over your nail.  There's a magnet in the top that pulls the top coat into these cool waves.  My sister picked this up at Target for about $9.  It was a little high maintenance for me - its usually all I can do to wait for one coat to dry - but I love the way it came out.  Unfortunately, we did a bunch of work to the house on Sunday and I totally ruined my manicure.
My sole shopping for today - had $20 in UP's to use at Rite Aid. I could have bought the free after rebate eye stuff (or whatever it is) and rolled the UP's into rebate money but I just didn't feel like it.  So instead, I burned the money and now I have no UP's to worry about expiring.  I think I'm going to try and take it light over the summer and just do the deals that are super fun.  We've done a lot of work to the house and we're going to take the summer off to enjoy all our hard work and the nice weather.  I'm going to try and do the same for couponing, but we'll see how it goes.  I can never resist for long.  Here's what I got -

  • 4 RA Plastic Cups (12 pk) $1 each/$0.80 with 20% discount
  • 2 Sally Hansen Salon Effects $9.79 each/$7.83 with 20% discount
  • Sobe Lifewater $1.79/$1.43 with 20% discount
  • Used $20 in UP's, total was $1.71
I've been wanting to try the Salon Effects for ages but they're so expensive!  Now's my chance.  :)

Free Eggs at Target

Target

  • 2 ICBINB Tubs $2.69 each, used two $1.25 coupons (from coupons.com, this coupon goes up and down so keep an eye out for it) = $1.44 each
  • Eggs $1.49, FREE when you buy two ICBINB's (runs through 5/19 I believe) = FREE
  • Total was $2.88
While we were at Target, we picked up three plastic totes for our freezer - one for chicken, one for beef and one for pork.  My parents got me a Food Saver for Christmas and the bags keep meat fresh for two years so I don't worry about freezer burn anymore.

Craziest thing - we saw a coyote today in our back yard!  It was chasing a fluffy yellow housecat up a tree.  The poor cat wasn't up quite high enough for safety, but we scared the coyote off by pulling in the driveway and the cat scampered away to safety.  We'll definitely have to be more careful about letting Shadow out!

Target Deal

Target

  • Carefree Original Pantiliners (60 ct) $2.99, used $1 coupon (3/18 SS)
  • 2 Stayfree Ultra Thin Pads (18 ct) $2.89 each, used $2 off 2 coupon (3/18 SS)
  • Total was $6.08 and got a $5 Target gift card (for buying three items).  I'll also send away for a $5 rebate WYB 2 Carefree (30 ct or higher), Stayfree (any size) or ob items.  This is a yellow peelie rebate (with purple writing) that I found at CVS.  Its valid from 4/1 - 6/15.  That makes this deal a $3.92 profit!
I bought a second set of Carefree/Stayfree items to use towards a second rebate.  I also found a clearanced Nordic Ware icing spatulas - down from $9.99 to $2.98.  I'm pretty sure this is a clearance item from Easter so as with any clearance deal, you may or may not find it in your stores.

    Clearanced Warmth

    Target

    • Circo Flannel Sheet Set $17.49 (clearance price)
    • 2 Up & Up Dryer Sheets (35 ct) $1.36 (regular price), used two $1 coupons = $0.36 each
    • Total was $19.62

Da boyfriend and I have been trying to cut costs wherever we can.  Its hard to put together a realistic budget when we don't quite yet know what our average electric and oil bills are going to be.  Luckily, both of us don't mind a cooler house, so we've been keeping the thermostats low.  My sisters swung by for a visit last week and while one sis didn't even want to take her coat off, I was perfectly comfortable.  Lest you think I'm a terrible hostess, we were going right out for lunch and shopping, otherwise I would have happily cranked up the heat for her.  She lives in Virginia and is used to toastier climates.

These flannel sheets are going to help out a lot.  I was planning on buying a set before the winter temperatures really kick in and read a post from a fellow couponer that she found clearanced flannel sheets at Target.  I had to return some unused curtains anyway, so I headed over on my lunch break.  That store had a couple of sets clearanced for $14.99, but only in twin or king.  I hit up another store on my way home and found this set for $17 and change.  Aren't the bears cute?  I realize Circo produces kids' items, but these were too cute and too comfortable to pass up.  The $14.99 sets are manufactured by Target and have a red sign/postcard type of piece of paper on the front that tell you what size they are.  Be sure to scan them at a price scanner first to make sure that they're the price you want.

Both stores had a lot of Christmas/holiday clearance items, but they're only at 50%.  I poked around but didn't see anything that was worth buying.  I'm set on wrapping paper, tissue paper and bows, so the only thing I was really looking for was decorations for the house.  At 50%, the prices just weren't good enough for me.  Have you all found anything interesting?

    Uber Douche

So I was in a hit and run tonight. Sounds like the start of a bad joke, doesn't it? I'm perfectly fine, just a little shook up. I was in the right lane of a two lane merge and this huge pickup that was behind me apparently didn't want me to go and tapped the back left hand side of my car. Nevermind that we were all politely alternating cars in the merge and it was my turn to go. Nevermind that he was behind me and could clearly see me, and he was in my blind spot where I couldn't clearly see him. Nevermind that trucks do come equipped with brakes that would aid a driver in situations such as these. All of that would have been annoying, but fine, except that he DIDN'T STOP! He scooted past me once we got onto the highway and sped off. So I did what any self-respecting Jersey girl would have done. I followed his ass! I flashed him many times, called 911 and gave them his plate number. A cop came to my rescue soon after and wrote up a report. Hopefully they find him! My car's scratched up a bit, nothing too serious. What a lovely Monday.

Pier 1 Imports - print out this fantastic coupon for $10 off a $10 purchase, good until 7/27. Pier 1 has great stuff, but I try to avoid the store since everything is pricey. Now I'm going to see how many goodies I can get for super cheap!
    • 4 White Ramekins $1.50 each
    • Spoon Rest $5.68 - clearance price
    • Used $10/$10 coupon, total was $1.80
    Walgreens
    • 2 Scunchi Hair Elastics $1.50 each, got back $3 RR (WYB 2) = FREE

    • Shower Caddy $6

    Cutest Gloves in Town

Rite Aid - this store had tons of outdoor/gardening stuff for 75% off. There were ceramic bunnies, smiling frogs and happy garden gnomes. Having watched Gnomeo and Juliet recently, I couldn't help but wonder if they battle it out each night.
    • 4 RA Razors $4.79 ($5.99 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), used four $2 peelie coupons and got back four $3 UP's (Limit 4) = $0.84 profit
    • RA gardening gloves $0.49 - 75% clearance sale
    • RA spray bottle $0.37 - 75% clearance sale
    • Used $3/$15 survey coupon, total was $10.18
    Target
    • 6 Milo's Kitchen Dog Treats $2.50 each (price cut thru 8/27), used six $1.50 coupons (5/15 RP) = $6 or $1 each
Shadow loves these chicken meatballs, but I gotta tell ya. When I stumble across one of these lying on the carpet, it sure looks like a turd! Also picked up a back-of-the-door mirror for four bucks and two sets of curtains for nine bucks a pop.

    ShopRite
    • 4 Viva Paper Towels $2.29 each, used four $0.85 coupons (7/17 SS) and got back $2.50 catalina (WYB 4, or $1 WYB 2 or $1.50 WYB 3) = $0.14 profit

    Scores at Target

Target's clearance has been great lately! They have patio furniture, chairs and tables at 75% off. I also found a lot of summer stuff clearanced too. My sister is super excited at the thought of "funtastic frozen treats." WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!
    • Sunbeam Ice Cream Maker (4 quarts!) $7.49 - clearanced from $29.99
    • 5 Tumbler Glasses $0.49 each - clearanced from $1.99 each
    • Target brand standard size pillows $2.50, used $2 Target coupon = $0.50
    • 2 packs Sharpie markers $1 each, used two $1 Target coupons = FREE
    • Total was $25.71
The Target coupons are available on target.com. Scroll to the bottom and click on Coupons. You can print two per computer. The receipt lists the pillows as "STD Pillow." Awwwwkward!

Also picked up super cheap Scotch Brite sponges at ShopRite. They're on sale (through next week too) for $1.84 each and I got an email from Scotch Brite the other day that included a $0.75 coupon. After doubling, that makes the sponges $0.34 a pack! I'm happy to pass along the coupon if anyone wants it. Just email me at frugalsuz at hotmail dot com.

    Clearance Central!

It seems like all the stores by me have had the best clearance deals lately! The Walgreens in my area are all getting revamped, so there have been tons of goodies marked down.
Rite Aid - while I was buying these items, I also picked up rainchecks for The Doctor's Nightguard that's on sale this week. The raincheck price will be $4.99, so free after the $5 coupon. During the month of April, there's a $3 SCR on these (Limit 2!) so that's a $6 profit per account. Be sure to get a raincheck if you can.
    • 4 Gillette ProGlide Razors $8.79 ($10.99 reg price, 20% discount), used four $4 coupons (2/27 P&G), $3 off $15 purchase coupon (from survey received on receipt of previous purchase) and got back $10 UP (WYB $30, Limit 1) = $6.16 or $1.54 each
    • 2 Veet Caring Touch Cremes $5.19 each ($6.49 reg price, 20% discount), used two $3 coupons and two $3 circular coupons and got back two $1 UP's = $3.62 profit
    • Revlon Emery Boards $1.95 ($2.45 reg price, 20% discount), used $2 coupon and will get back $1 (SCR #20) = $1.05 profit *This is the regular price, so you have until 3/29 to pick up this deal
    • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $14 in UP's, total was $3.62
At another store, I bought one more Veet, Revlon tweezers for $1.96 ($2.45 reg price) and Blink for $7.99 (free after SCR). I'll submit for those rebates on DBF's account.

Walgreens - nothing fancy here, just bought more Almay for $4.19, used the $2 coupon and got back $5 RR. Also found some great clearance stuff:
    • 2 Always double pack liners clearanced to $2.29, used two $1 coupons (P&G rebate booklet) = $1.29 each
    • 10 No Nonsense knee highs clearanced to $0.20 each

    Target
    • Iams Naturals Dog Food $14.69, used $1 coupon (2/27 P&G) = $13.69
    • Sewing Machine clearanced to $6.44 (down from $29.99)
    • Total was $21.61
My sister feeds Riley Iams so I said I'd pick her up some food and send away for this rebate to get a coupon for a free bag. I was wandering around the store, checking out endcaps for clearance items and looking down aisles for those lovely red tags when I spotted this sewing machine. $6! It wouldn't be great for heavy use, but for the occasional times that I need one, this will work great for me and I won't have to truck my stuff over to my parents' to use my mom's machine. The box looked a little beat up, so I'm going to open it up and make sure it works. The store said I have 90 days to return it if there's a problem, even though its on clearance. Some places (ie. CVS) don't let you return clearance items, so this was great news.

Found anything interesting on clearance in your neck of the woods?

Finally Got to my Weekly Shopping

I got my weekly coupon order in from Mad Coupons the other day, so off to the stores I went. If you haven't heard about Mad Coupons, let me tell you...its fabulous! You pay $10.50 for TEN (count 'em TEN!) copies of the coupon inserts for that week, including shipping costs. And the rates don't change depending on how many inserts there are that week. Its always $10.50. I send off my payment via PayPal on Saturdays and I usually get my coupons on Wednesday or Thursday of the following week. The service is pretty new, so I imagine it won't stay at these fabulous rates forever.

The downside to ordering coupons online is that you obviously don't have them in-hand to do a sale right away. Most weeks that's fine with me, but this week, most of the deals I wanted involved Sunday's coupons so I had to wait. The newspapers in my area stopped carrying the RP insert, so I'd be stuck buying those online anyway. But even on weeks where there isn't a RP, at $1.50-$2 a pop, Mad Coupons blows the price of buying papers out of the water.
Rite Aid - did this transcation twice, one for my rebates and one for my boyfriend's account. I also used up all the UP Rewards I had on-hand, so no pressure to rush back in to RA if the deals aren't looking hot.
    • Bengay Pain Relief + Massage Gel $7.99, used $3 coupon and $3 in-circular coupon and will submit for Try Me Free rebate (6/20 RP) = $6 profit
    • Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor $9.99, used $4 coupon (8/1 P&G) and will get back $5 (SCR #78) = $0.99
    • 4 Crest Pro-Health or 3D White Rinses $5 each, used four $2 coupons (8/1 P&G) and will get back $10 (SCR #39) = $2 *Also counts towards SCR #556
    • Used $5 off $25 coupon, $3 UP Reward and $5 UP Reward, total was $8.73

CVS - stopped in mainly to get some Skippy PB but the store only had chunky, so I walked out with a raincheck instead.

    • 2 Kudos Bars $2 each
    • Used $1 EB and $1 EB, total was $2

When I was a wee lass, my mom and I flew to Florida, just the two of us. I only have a few memories from that trip - waving goodbye to my dad and sisters at the airport, watching cartoons in the hotel room, laying down beach towels on the black leather seats of the car we rented (Florida + black leather seats + summer = unhappy frugalsuz) so we could stand sitting on them and flicking lizards off the screen door of my grandparents' house each morning. My mom assures me that we visited Disney, but I just don't remember! One of my clearest memories is from the plane ride. Our in-flight meal included a Kudos bar and I remember turning to my mom in amazement, wondering what this little bar of heaven was called. I'm sure she laughed at me (as she usually does when I say stupid stuff like that) and passed it off, but my life was forever changed that day. Every once and a while, I like to nosh on some Kudos bars for old times sake.

    ShopRite

    • 5 Ziploc Bags $1.50 each (fifth was $2.09), used four $0.55 coupons (7/25 SS) and got back $5 catalina and cat for FREE reusable bag (WYB 5) = $1.31 profit
    • Peaches $0.69/lb = $1.99
    • Hanes undies $2.99
    • Used $5 catalina, total was $4.08
My sister and I were poking around in Target and I came across this adorable bag for $34.99. I've grown tired of my current bag (I'm a one-bag-at-a-time-kinda gal), so I decided to splurge. I used two $15 rewards cards that I got from Biore surveys, so $7.44 OOP.

Zebra print liner! How can you say no to that?

    Keep Your Eyes Peeled

Be on the lookout for these Biore cleansers, specifically the back of the bottles. If you're lucky, you might be able to find peelie coupons for a $15 prepaid card if you complete a survey online about the cleanser.
Rite Aid - big thanks to Wild for Wags (although I haven't been able to find any at WAG's) for the head's up on the Biore - what a great deal!
    • Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Mascara $10.95, used $5 RA coupon (printable that was emailed out) and $5 peelie coupon and will submit for TMF rebate (have to include TMF sticker from package) = $10 profit
    • Biore Steam Activated Cleanser $7.49, will submit for $15 prepaid card (via survey info found on peelie) = $7.51 profit
    • 2 Diet Cokes (one regular, one caffeine free) $1.69 each, will get back $1.69 (SCR #125) = $1.69
    • Used $5 off $20 coupon, total was $7.00, overall profit = $20.64

I also picked up two rainchecks for three Huggies at $8.99 each. Starting Sunday, RA is introducing a new program called +UP Rewards. Its kind of like CVS - RA money will print at the bottom of your receipt when you buy qualifying items. There's an +UP Rewards deal on Huggies through 6/12. When you buy three Huggies, you get back $11.99 in rewards. With the $8.99 raincheck price, they'll be FREE! Here's the math: three at $8.99 each, $5 off $20 coupon, three $3 coupons and three $1 RA coupon = $9.97 and get back $11.97 rewards = $2 profit. If the store won't allow me to use three VV coupons at once, I'll just use one and pay $11.97 - so FREE! The $8.99 price is only for this week and the +UP Rewards program doesn't go national until Sunday, so if you want to do this deal, be sure to get a raincheck for at least three. The stores I went to weren't wiped clean of Huggies, so I said that they were out of the size I needed and I didn't have any problems getting rainchecks.

    CVS

    • Biore Steam Activated Cleanser $7.99 and Biore Facial Wipes $7.99, used $2 off 2 peelie coupon, got back $3 EB (WYB $10, monthly deal I think? Limit definitely more than one) and will submit for $15 prepaid card (via survey info found on peelie on cleanser) = $4.02 profit
    • 3 Power Bars $0.99 each, got back $2.97 EB ($0.99 EB for each, monthly deal, Limit 3) = FREE
    • Dove candy bar clearanced to $0.44 - looong gone
    • Used $4 off $20 coupon, $1 EB, $1 EB, $4 EB and $7 EB, total was $1.24

    Target

    • 4 Right Guard deodorants (travel size) $0.97 each, used two $3 off 2 coupon = $2.12 profit
    • 3 Olay Toners $2.99 each and 3 Olay Regenerist Cleansing Wipes $5.99 each, used three $1 coupons (5/16 SS) and three $5 coupons (P&G home mailer) and got back a $5 Target gift card for every two that I bought = $6.06 profit
    • Total was $6.87, paid with gift cards

Now have enough Olay purchases to finish out my third $12 rebate.

I've been on the lookout for clearanced Listerine, but haven't had any luck. I figured I'd just buy the cheapest I could find:

    • 2 Listerine Whitening (bought separately) $5.34, used $2 coupon = $3.34 - paid with gift card
    • Will submit for $10 rebate on each

    ShopRite

    • 4 Chore Boy Sponges $1.34 each, used four $0.55 coupons = $0.24 each
    • Total was $1.13 after $0.05 bag discount

    $0.37 for Diapers? Ok!

I found a NBPR rebate on ebay today from Budweiser - spend $10 on a variety of summer items, including sunglasses and get back $8! Its a little expensive right now (the only auctions I saw were about $2.30 for one form) so I'm going to keep an eye on it and pounce at the right time. This will be great to use along with the sunglasses I bought at Rite Aid earlier this week!

    CVS
    • CVS brand Ultra Thin Jumbo Pack Diapers (34 pack) - clearanced to $2.37, got back $2 EB (Limit 1) = $0.37

EB's don't always print on clearanced items so this is a really great deal. The diapers were NOT marked as being clearanced, so you might want to scan them before going to the register. I almost prefer when the stores don't mark the items because there's usually more stock left. Hidden deals rock!

    Target
    • 6 Olay Toners $2.99 each, used six $1 coupons (5/16 SS) and got back a $5 Target gift card for every two that I bought = $1.01 profit for every two, $3.03 profit overall
    • 6 Olay Regenerist facial cleansing wipes $5.99 each, used six $5 coupons (P&G home mailer) and got back a $5 Target gift card for every two that I bought = $3.02 profit for every two, $9.06 profit overall
    • 4 Bounty Basic Paper Towels $0.99 each, used four $1 coupons (P&G home mailer) = FREE/$0.04 profit
    • Total was $19.51, paid with gift cards

The $5 coupons did not beep, thank goodness. These $1 coupons beeped, but my cashier didn't give me any trouble and pushed them all through. I had printed out a page from Olay's website where they classify toner as a cleanser just in case. I'll submit for this $12 rebate (DBF's address) for buying $30 of qualifying P&G items. I have enough coupons left to finish out another $12 rebate (parents' address) I started earlier this week. The store had tons of Olay in stock, so hopefully I'll finish this out tomorrow.

    Walgreens

    • 2 Red Baron pizzas $3 each (only enough room in the freezer for one so I had the second for dinner - yum!)
    • $10 Walgreens gift card
    • 3 Royal Jelatins $0.20 each with in-circular coupon
    • Used six $2.50 RR's, total was $1.60

At a different store, I bought two Kotex's and my last Ecotrin. I have one lonely Kotex coupon left to use up.

Go Big or Stay Home Kinda Day

Man, I'm beat! I wanted to hit the stores nice and early today so I'd be home with plenty of time to blog, take a shower and relax a bit before heading over to my parents for a BBQ. I left around 8 this morning and got back around 12:30. Not bad considering I hit up ShopRite, 2 Targets, 4 RA's, CVS and a bunch of Walgreens and got stuck in traffic watching a parade go by. Let's get started, shall we?

Ugh, just read on iheartwags that the Cortaid is limit one per household, except in RI where the limit is two. I'll have to return three of the bottles I bought.

Rite Aid - be sure to pick up the glasses with the polarvision tags on them. I got one that just said "Polarized" and it rang up $19.99. Not really sure what the difference is, but its not worth the hassle of holding up the line to get another pair or having the cashiers adjust the price (what they did for me).

    SCR's for my account:
    • Style Science Polarvision Sunglasses $12.99, used $10 coupon and will count towards SCR #84, $10 WYB 2 = $2.99
    • 6 Ziploc Slider Bags $2.99 each, BOGO sale and used three BOGO coupons (4/11 SS) = FREE
    • Nova Max Blood Glucose Monitor $9.99, will get back $9.99 (SCR #50) = FREE
    • Used $5 off $20 coupon, total was $9.17 - paid with gift cards from previous rebates, overall profit for transaction = $5.82

Then to finish out my rebates, I bought:

    • Style Science Polarvision Sunglasses $12.99, used $10 coupon and now will get back $10 (SCR #84, $10 WYB 2) = $4.02 profit
    • 4 Ziploc Slider Bags $2.99 each, BOGO sale and used three BOGO coupons (4/11 SS) = $1.60 or $0.80 each - cashier entered these in as $2.19 each
    • Huggies Snug & Fit Diapers Jumbo Pack $8.99, used $3 coupon (or here) and $1 RA coupon and will get back $2 (SCR) = $2.99
    • Used $5 off $20 coupon, total was $5.56 - paid with gift cards, overall profit for transaction = $1.44

Then for DBF's rebates, I basically did the same thing again:

    • Style Science Polarvision Sunglasses $12.99, used $10 coupon and will count towards SCR #84, $10 WYB 2 = $2.99
    • Nova Max Blood Glucose Monitor $9.99, will get back $9.99 (SCR #50) = FREE
    • Used $5 off $20 coupon, total was $8.54, paid with gift card, overall profit for transaction = $6.45
    Finally...
    • Style Science Polarvision Sunglasses $12.99, used $10 coupon and now will get back $10 (SCR #84, $10 WYB 2) = $4.02 profit
    • Huggies Little Movers Diapers Jumbo Pack $8.99, used $3 coupon (or here) and $1 RA coupon and will get back $2 (SCR) = $2.99
    • 2 Ziploc Slider Bags $2.99 each, BOGO sale and used BOGO coupon (4/11 SS) = FREE
    • Used $5 off $20 coupon, total was $3.75, paid with gift card, overall profit for transaction = $3.25

    Walgreens

    • Ecotrin Low Strength Tablets (45 ct) $2, used $2 coupon (5/16 RP) and got back $2 RR = $2 profit
    • Cortaid Max Strength Anti-Itch Cream (0.5 oz) $3, used $1 coupon (3/14 RP *Exp 5/31 or 4/25 SS) and get $3 rebate form at register (Limit 1) = $1 profit
    • U by Kotex $3.49, used $1 coupon (I bought a bunch of Kotex coupons on ebay that don't expire until 2011) and got back $2.50 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
    • Royal Gelatin $0.69
    • Used $5 RR, total was $0.18 - didn't use the in-circular coupon for the jello b/c that would make me negative. Must have done my math wrong

Repeated this transaction without the jello, paid total of $4.49 with gift card

    Another WAG:

    • Ecotrin Low Strength Tablets (45 ct) $2, used $2 coupon (5/16 RP) and got back $2 RR = $2 profit
    • Cortaid Max Strength Anti-Itch Cream (0.5 oz) $3, used $1 coupon (3/14 RP *Exp 5/31 or 4/25 SS) and get $3 rebate form at register (Limit 1) = $1 profit
    • $20 Walgreens gift card
    • 3 Royal Gelatins $2 for all three
    • Used three $8 RR's, total was zero

This transaction was a bit wonky. I also had a Kotex that I was buying, but apparently, the cashier didn't ring it up. He rang all my coupons (including the Kotex!) and then handed me back my Cortaid coupon saying it was expired. I was about to argue but then saw that my total was zero. Since there was a huge line forming behind me, I figured I must have done my math wrong and left. I realized later what happened. Isn't it weird that the Kotex coupon scanned? The only thing I can think of is that he scanned the Cortaid coupon and then handed that back to me. He was going at super-sonic-speed so it was hard to keep up.

Another WAG - repeated this transaction three times

    • U by Kotex $3.49, used $1 coupon (I bought a bunch of Kotex coupons on ebay that don't expire until 2011) and got back $2.50 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
    • Royal Gelatin $0.20 with in-circular coupon (love this super cheap filler!)
    • Used $2 RR, total was $0.69

    Final trip:

    • U by Kotex $3.49, used $1 coupon (I bought a bunch of Kotex coupons on ebay that don't expire until 2011) and got back $2.50 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
    • Ecotrin Low Strength Tablets (45 ct) $2, used $2 coupon (5/16 RP) and got back $2 RR = $2 profit
    • Total was $2.49, paid with gift card

Target - both these deals are from my new fav website - Totally Target

    • 2 Olay Toners $2.99 each, used two $2 coupons (5/2 P&G - these expire today!) and got back $5 Target gift card = $3.02 profit
    • 2 Olay Facial Cloths $4.49 each, used two $2 coupons (5/2 P&G) and got back $5 Target gift card = $0.02 profit
    • Armor All Tire Shine $4.99 and Tire Protectant (7 oz) $6, used $3 off 2 Target coupon and two $2 coupons and will submit for TMF rebate on the tire protectant = $2.01 profit
    • Total was $10.27, paid with gift cards

The second store I checked had TONS of toner. I didn't even come close to cleaning them out by buying eight:

    • 8 Olay Toners $2.99 each, used eight $2 coupons (5/2 P&G - these expire today!) and got back $5 Target gift card for every two = $12.08 profit
    • 3 Bounty Basic Paper Towels $0.99 each, used three $1 coupons (from P&G coupon booklet home mailer) = $0.03 profit
    • Total was $8.16, paid with gift cards

Will save this receipt to submit for $12 rebate (WYB $30) using the Olays that I bought. Hopefully there will be another deal on the qualifying items soon enough.

    ShopRite
    • Two $50 JCPenney gift cards, got back $10 catalina (WYB certain gift cards) = $10 profit
    • 16 Breyers Yogurts $0.50 each, used four $0.50 off 4 coupons (5/23 SS) = $4 or $0.25 each
    • Total was $103.95
CVS - my card. Had some EB's to use up, otherwise I probably would have passed on this week's deals
    • Ban Invisible Solid (2.6 oz) $2.99, used $1 coupon (4/18 SS) and got back $2 EB (Limit 1) = FREE/$0.01 profit
    • Finesse Hair Spray $3.99, used $1 coupon and will submit for $3 rebate (5/16 SS) = FREE/$0.01 profit
    • Wesson Oil $2.49
    • Used $6.99 EB, total was $0.97, got back $1 EB for using green bag tag
