Break Me Off a Piece of That....

CVS

  • 3 Kit Kats three for $10, used $1 off 3 coupon (10/14 SS) and got back $3 EB (WYB 3, Limit at least two) = $6 or $2 each
  • Garlic $1
  • Used two $5 EB's, total was zero

This store didn't have any cheap Revlon items so I just got the candy.  Think they'll make it to Halloween?  Me either.  :)

Walgreens - can't resist a sale on bubble mailers!

  • 4 Scotch Bubble Mailers $0.39 each with in-circular coupon
  • Total was $1.67 - paid with gift card from a rebate I did a while back

Slacker Shopping

I am so glad this week is now in the rear-view mirror.  Work was so busy - its the end of the term so all the students come out of the woodwork to register for the next term.  And of course, they're typically the ones with issues.  I didn't take lunch all week, which is typically when I do a lot of my shopping and I just couldn't get myself to go to the store after work.  So today was the day!

I went up to the Pets Alive shelter in the morning to spend some time in the cat house.  They have a room just for kittens!  I'm pretty sure Don-Don is the all black kitten that immediately jumped into my lap and purred non-stop.  This little one-eyed girl was so cute and sweet.  I could watch kittens play for hours. There were four itty bitty guys that sprinted around the room non-stop, knocked each other over and pounced anything that moved.  And this guy - Ethan, what a character!  He was the first cat I saw when I walked into the adult cat room.  I gave him some chin scratches and wandered off to say hi to the other cats.  I was bending down to pet someone else and Ethan jumped right onto my back!  Scared the bejeezus out of me.  I jumped a little bit and he jumped down and looked at me as if to say - "What? You know I'm the cutest one here so why waste your time with those other cats?"  I love how beautiful Mickey is, she was so gentle.  I can't wait to go back!

Ok, now on to business -

Rite Aid - I checked several stores but couldn't find any that had the Lysol Power and Free cleansers.  Oh well, here's what I got instead:

  • Gillette Proglide Razor $8.79 ($10.99 reg price, 20% discount) and Mach 3 Razor $7.99 ($9.99 reg price, 20% discount), used BOGO coupon (free Mach 3 razor, 8/26 P&G) and $4 Proglide coupon (8/12 RP) and got back two $4 UP's (Limit 2) = $3.21 profit
  • 4 No Nonsense Knee Highs $2.69 and BOGO 50% off sale (two were $2.69, two were $1.34), got back two $5 UP's ($5 WYB 2, Limit 2) = $1.94 profit
  • 3 Nabisco Crackers $2.50 each, used B2G1 free coupon (printable from coupons.com - still available?), used $1 off 2 coupon (8/5 SS) and got back $1 UP (WYB 2, Limit 2 or 3?) = $3 or $1 each
  • 20 Gatorade/Pepsi 2 L $1 each, got back $3 UP (WYB 10, Limit 2) and $3 UP (monthly deal I think, Limit at least 2) = $8 or $0.40 each
I wanted to buy six crackers at once so I could use another $1 off 2 coupon but I couldn't find a store with that many in stock.  I also bought a bunch more Gatorade and Pepsi than is in the picture but all those bottles are awfully heavy to lug all around the house.

Walgreens

  • 2 Suave Shampoos $1 each, got back $2 RR (WYB 2) = FREE
  • Total was $2.16
Then I used this RR plus the two I had from Sunday to buy sugar -

  • 3 Domino Confectioner's Sugars $1.99 each
  • Twix $0.59
  • Used three $2 RR's, total was $0.56

S&S and a Trip to Walgreens

Stop & Shop

  • 10 Crystal Lites $3 each, used ten $0.50 tearpad coupons (all doubled, found at Walgreens), got back $10 Kraft catalina (WYB 10 qualifying items) and $0.40 gas discount/$14 = $4 profit
  • S&S Paper Towels (single roll) $1, used $1 S&S paper product coupon (with additional $15 purchase) = FREE
  • Total was $20.81
Walgreens

  • 2 Suave Shampoo $1 each, got back $2 RR (WYB 2) = FREE
  • Total was $2.16
Repeated and bought another two bottles.  My mom loves Suave shampoo so I picked these up for her.  I was hoping to use the $2 RR's on some confectioners sugar but the store didn't have any.

I preenrolled for Walgreens' new program - Balance Rewards so I earned a couple points on these transactions.
Here's where I found the $1 paper products coupon.  They were located at the end of the checkout aisles, not in any free standing displays.  The coupon is good until 2/3/13 so keep an eye out!  $1 is the regular price for the single roll of paper towels.

I've started volunteering at a local no-kill animal shelter called Pets Alive.  I'll bring over the paper towels to the great folks there, plus some other stuff from the stockpile room.  I'd like to try and bring some donation items each time I go.

Free Diapers!

Walgreens

  • 4 Huggies Slip On Diapers (size 3) clearanced to $3.19 each, used $4 WAG coupon (monthly coupon booklet, took off $3.19 each) = FREE
Checked out one other store that didn't have them on clearance at all and another that was sold out.  As always, clearance deals vary greatly from store to store.  This store had a sign up saying they were $10.79 a pack.  Just to be thorough, I brought one to the cashier and asked for a price check.  I did a very enthusiastic happy dance (on the inside of course) and then went back to the aisle for the other four packs. I gave two to my friend at work who just had a baby and kept two for my stockpile.

Rite Aid - more of the same mostly.  We're into the August SCR's now -

  • 4 Duck Rugged Mailers $1.19 each ($1.49 reg price, 20% discount), will get back $6 (SCR #51, $3 WYB 2, Limit 2) = $1.24 profit
  • 4 Gracious Living Accessory Boxes $2.39 each ($2.99 reg price, 20% discount), will get back $10 (August SCR #44, $5 WYB 2, Limit 3) = $0.44 profit
  • 3 Office Expert Thumbtacks $0.29 each, will get back $1 (SCR #54, WYB 3) = $0.13 profit
  • Super Poligrip Denture Adhesive Cream (0.75 oz) $1.99, will get back $1.99 (August SCR #585) = FREE *waited too long to print the $1 coupon - its out of prints now!  Boo
  • 4 Visine (15 mL) $4.23 ($5.29 reg price, 20% discount), used four $2 coupons (7/29 RP) and four $2 circular coupons = $0.23 each
The Visine purchases now give me $25.38 towards the $30 I need to get back a $10 UP.  I've only spent $1.38 so far!  Two more to go....

Just realized there's another SCR in August for Revlon beauty tools!  Wish I'd waited to make my final purchases.  Its $2 WYB $5 or $4 WYB $10 (#30, Limit FOUR!).

My Rite Aid stores got catalina machines!  I got an ad for Cover Girl foundation (boring) and $1 off a denture thing.  Fingers crossed that I get better coupons going forward!

Sunday Shopping

Rite Aid
  • 4 Revlon Emery Boards $1.25 each, BOGO 50% sale so two were $0.62 each, got back two $4 UP's ($4 WYB 2 items, Limit 2) = $4.26 profit *Will also submit these for $4 (SCR #79, $4 WYB 2 items, Limit 2 offers, valid until 7/31)
  • 2 Crest Toothpastes $3 each, used $1 off 2 coupon (7/1 P&G) and got back two $3 UP's (Limit 2) = $1 profit
  • U by Kotex Liners (18 ct) $1.19 ($1.49 reg price, 20% discount), used $1 coupon (7/8 SS) and will get back $1 (SCR #30, valid until 7/31) = $0.81 profit
  • 2 Duck Rugged Mailers $1.19 each ($1.49 reg price, 20% discount) and will get back $3 (SCR #93, $3 WYB 2, Limit 2 offers, valid until 7/31) = $0.62 profit
  • 3 Office Expert Thumbtacks $0.29 each, will get back $1 (SCR #91, WYB 3, valid until 7/31) = $0.13 profit
Bought all this stuff again on a separate card.  The single Revlon nail files were $1.99 each, so $2.04 profit before coupons.

There are $1 Revlon beauty tools coupons in today's paper and the 6/24 SS.  There's also two $2 Video Value coupons as well (one for nails and one for eyes), but my printer is out of ink and I didn't want to wait to buy these until I get some.  The stores in my area sell out quickly on big moneymakers like this.

Walgreens
  • Vitali-T-Aid Caps (60 ct) $20, will get back $22 WAG rebate ($20 + 10% bonus for getting the rebate money back on a WAG gift card) = $2 profit
  • Cortaid Max Strength 1% Cream (0.5 oz) $2.99, used $1 coupon (or here or here or 6/10 RP *Expires 7/31) and will get back $3.28 WAG rebate ($2.99 + 10% bonus for getting the rebate money back on a WAG gift card) = $1.29 profit
  • Paid with $19.80 gift card from previous rebate and $2.19 cash
The offer code for these rebates is W0812.  The Vitali is #11 and the Cortaid is #10.
ShopRite
  • 8 Bags Ruffles Chips and 2 Bags Rold Gold Pretzels $2.50 each, used four $1 off 2 Ruffles coupons (7/22 Moments to Save coupon insert) and got back $10 catalina (WYB 10 qualifying items) and catalina for FREE reusable bag = $11 or $1.10 each
I don't have the rebate form in hand yet, but I'm going to save this receipt for a $5 Pabst NBPR rebate on $5.01 of salty snacks.  That will bring the cost down to $0.60 a bag!  Pabst rebates require UPC's (one of the very few beer rebates that do) so I'll have to be sure to save them.

Wait, Wait, Please Don't Make Me Wait

Can't stop singing Timebomb!  I wasn't crazy about the song the first time I heard it, but it has definitely grown on me.  I've taken to bopping around the house saying "woop!" whenever the mood strikes me.  Do you remember The Loco-motion?  I remember working out a routine to that song in dance class when I was younger.  Who would have thought Kylie would come so far from those days?

ShopRite has been listening to the song too and made me wait to use my catalinas.  I thought I'd be able to use the $10 catalina I earned right away, but it wouldn't go through and the manager that came over told me it was valid starting next week.  Bummer.  I bought the gift cards first and then everything else separately.  Here's what I got -

  • 2 $25 Shell Gift Cards, got back $10 catalina (WYB $50 worth) = $10 profit
  • Snapple 6 pack $5.99, used $1 coupon (6/10 SS) and will submit for TMF rebate (found on product) = $1 profit
  • Kix $1.88, used $0.75 coupon and will get back $0.75 Savingstar credit = $0.37 profit
  • 4 Lays Chips $3 each
  • Doritos (hidden behind the Sun Chips - great picture taking I've got going tonight huh?) $2.14
  • Milk $0.79
  • Sloppy Joe Mix $0.99
  • Total was $71.78
Stop & Shop

  • 2 $25 Shell Gift Cards, got back $10 catalina (WYB $50 worth) = $10 profit
  • Snapple 6 pack $5.99, used $1 coupon (6/10 SS) and will submit for TMF rebate (found on product) = $1 profit
  • 20 Friskies Indoor and Plus Wet Cat Food $0.50 each, used five $0.50 off 4 coupons (3/18 RP) = $5 or $0.25 each
  • Used $7 catalina, total was $53.45

Got the cat food for a donation event going on at work so I didn't even bring them home.

Walgreens

  • 2 Bisquicks $1.50 each
  • Used $2 RR, total was $1

What's Up with the UP's?

Walgreens - well this isn't very exciting, but here's what I got with my $2 RR's from Ectotrin.

  • 6 No Nonsense Knee Highs three for $1 with in-circular coupon = $2
  • 3 Bugles three for $4.99, used $0.99 off 3 coupon (monthly coupon book) = $4
  • Used three $2 RR's, total was zero

I haven't shopped at RA in a couple weeks, but Erica's recent post about the changes to the UP's program has me wondering if my hiatus might turn into something more permanent.  What do you think about the changes?

Cashing out my RR's

Walgreens - I went into this store hoping to find enough Crystal Lite to do that deal again ($2 each, $5 RR WYB $15) but the store only had one lonely container.  So instead, I cashed in my RR's for this rebate item.  Now I don't have to worry about getting back to Walgreens any time soon.  The May rebates are valid from 4/29 - 5/26.

PC Triples!

I needed fillers for my Walgreens and Price Chopper purchases.  In both cases, I hadn't figured out ahead of time what I was going to buy and wandered aimlessly in the stores looking for something cheap and useful.  I kept looking at my watch, thinking of the time I was wasting and of my long to-do list for the day - which only added to the aimless wandering.  Adding to that, I've only been to this Walgreens a couple times.  I was pretty sure of how to get there, but was just starting on a different route than I've taken before when my GPS totally died on me.  So I spent another 10 minutes getting myself back to the route I was comfortable with.  I felt like I spent the entire day wandering around.  It was definitely one of those days where couponing felt more like a part-time job than a fun hobby.

Walgreens

  • 8 Crystal Lites $2 each, used four $1 off 2 tearpad coupons (found these a while back at ShopRite) and got back $5 RR (WYB $15) = $7 or $0.87 each
  • 4 Carlos V Milk Chocolates $0.39 - found these in the candy aisle
  • Used $1 RR, $1 RR, $3 RR and $6 RR, total was $3.26
Price Chopper - they're doing triples this week!  They'll triple up to four $1 coupons per order, with an additional $15 purchase.  I found the coupons in my Sunday paper, anyone know if they're available online somewhere?  ETA - here's a printable coupon!  Thanks Sheila

  • 2 Diet Pepsi 20 packs $5 each with in-circular coupon, used $2 off 2 coupon (4/29 Moments to Save coupon insert) = $8 or $4 each - will use these towards a $5 Bud NBPR rebate on many things including soda (32159) = $3 or $1.50 each
  • 4 Reynolds Parchment Papers $3.59 each, used four $1 coupons (3/25 SS) and four triplers = $2.36 or $0.59 each
  • 2 Minute Rice $2.69 each
  • Total was $19.07

Then at a different Price Chopper, I got -

  • Sorrento Ricotta Cheese $3, used $1 coupon (2/12 SS) and tripler = FREE
  • 3 Alexia Sweet Potato Fries/Onion Rings $4.39, used three $1 coupons and three triplers = $1.39 each
  • 2 Ballpark Hot Dogs $3.99 each, BOGO sale and used $1 off 2 coupon (4/15 RP) and four Hillshire Farm deli meats $3.33 each, will use towards $8 Blue Moon NBPR rebate on $16 of meat/seafood (106141) = $8.31
  • Heavy Cream $1.79
  • 2 Whipping Creams $2.99 each
  • Milk $3.89
  • Total was $30.64

$0.001 per sheet!

Stop & Shop - you're going to love this deal.  There's a catalina deal this week where you get $5 WYB $15 of qualifying items, including Scott Paper Towels (Choose-a-size or Mega 6 rolls), Scott Toilet Paper (12 rolls) and Scott Refill Wipes (170 ct).  This promo is working based on shelf prices.  There's also another catalina deal specifically on Scott products - buy two and get $2 or buy three and get $3.  For this second catalina, you have to buy two or three different items, so one paper towel, one toilet paper and/or one wipes.  You couldn't buy two toilet papers, you would only get the $5 catalina, not the $2 one.

Here's what I got -

  • Scott Naturals Paper Towels $4.99 (shelf price $5.99), used $0.70 coupon (this doubled for me at self checkout) = $3.59
  • Scott Toilet Paper $6.99 (shelf price $10.49)
  • Total was $10.58 and I got back a $5 catalina (for spending $15) and $2 catalina (for buying two different items) = $3.58 or $1.79 each

On a pack of tp with 1275 sheets (or thereabouts) at $1.79, that works out to $0.001 a sheet.  Love that!

There are $1 coupons for Naturals paper towels, wipes and toilet paper in the 4/15 SS.  I couldn't find any Naturals toilet paper in my stores that wasn't the tubeless kind (no cardboard rolls in the center).  These are the only Scott item I've seen reported NOT working for this deal.  Avoid the tubeless!

Walgreens
  • I Cool+D Menopause Relief Tablets (45 ct) $10, used $2 coupon (2/19 RP) and got back $10 RR = $2 profit
  • U by Kotex Sleek Tampons (Super Plus, Regular, or Super 18 ct) $3.99, used $1 coupon (3/25 SS) and got back $3 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • 3 Tuf Paper Towels $0.69 each with in-circular coupon
  • Used $1.50 RR, $2 RR and $9 RR, total was $0.81
What a fiasco this transaction was.  The cashier and manager had to ring me up FOUR times.  The cashier scanned all my coupons and as I went to swipe my gift card to pay, my total shot up by $1.50.  It was rejecting my $1.50 RR for whatever reason.  I've never had this happen before and the folks at Walgreens seemed equally clueless as to what was happening.  They voided the transaction, tried again - same thing.  We switched registers - same thing.  So bizarre!  The manager didn't do anything differently the fourth time (that I saw anyway) but for some reason, everything worked perfectly that time.  I read on SD that some folks were having trouble redeeming the $9 RR, so maybe that has something to do with it.

The Flintstones are Blooming

Fred and Wilma are flourishing in our backyard.  Everyone knows that its polite to give your tree a name.  It helps them develop a sense of self and grow into a happy, well adjusted tree.  Right?  Right?  Ok then, moving on.  Wilma is the lovely cherry blossom you see above - she looks so feminine with those pretty flowers!
And Fred is our soon-to-be beefy weeping willow.  I'm so happy to see these guys growing!
Stop & Shop - this is a fabulous gas deal, so only valid in states where you get a discount on gas.  I know NJ doesn't do these, so I bought everything in NY.  Big thank you to Melanie for posting this deal. I would have never seen it without her post.

Ok, so here we go.  Puffs tissues are $2 a box, $1.50 for the cubes.  When you buy three, you get a gas discount of $0.20 off per gallon.  The discount is good for a maximum of 35 gallons, so $0.20 off 35 gallons = $7.  So you're spending $4.50 - $6 on the tissues (depending on which ones you buy), but getting a discount of $7 at the pump.  Make sense?  So that equals FREE tissues and a fantastic deal on gas.  My car's tank is about 10 gallons and DBF's truck holds about 25, so we'll fill up both vehicles when redeeming this discount.

  • 2 Libman Heavy Scrubbers $2.39 each and Libman Tub & Tile Scrubber $2.95 = $7.73 OOP and $7 gas discount earned = $0.73 or $0.24 each
  • 21 Puffs boxes $2 each and 9 Puffs cubes $1.50 each = $55.50 OOP and $70 gas discount earned = $14.50 profit
I didn't realize the cubes were counting for this deal until I'd already purchased a bunch of the boxes.  That's a better deal, so get those if you're going for this deal.  I've now earned a discount of $2.20 off a gallon x 35 gallons = $77 of gas for $63.23.  Not bad!  $2.20 is the maximum discount you can earn, otherwise I'd still be at the store!

Just realized the large boxes rang up as $2.19 each.  I'll swing by the store tomorrow and get an adjustment for this.

I've been also hitting up Walgreens pretty hard.  I don't remember the last time I shopped there so much in a week.  I was very lucky to get the $5 Nasal Ease coupon in my papers.  I probably would have passed on these deals if I hadn't received that coupon.  The $5 - $8 profit on the Nasal Ease is great!  Here are the details on everything I got -

  • Nasal Ease Allergy Relief (0.18 oz) $9, used $5 coupon (3/11 RP), will submit for $3 rebate and got back $9 RR = $8 profit *I'll send away for a rebate at my address, DBF's mom's address and my parents' address.  So $5 profit on the remaining ones I bought
  • Similasan Nasal Allergy Relief Spray (0.68 oz) $6, used $1.50 coupon (4/1 SS or April All You magazine) and got back $6 RR = $1.50 profit
  • Lysol Dual Action Wipes $3.99, got back $1.50 RR and will submit for TMF rebate (or 3/18 SS) = $1.50 profit
  • Pepsi Next (20 oz) $0.99, got back $0.99 RR = FREE
  • Goody Hair Elastics (27 pk) $1.99, got back $1 RR = $0.99
  • Dawn Dish Soap $0.99, used $0.20 coupon (4/1 P&G) = $0.79
  • Hunts Tomato Sauce $0.33 with in-circular coupon

Walgreens and Walls

Walgreens

  • Nasal Ease Allergy Relief (0.18 oz) $9, used $5 coupon (3/11 RP), will submit for $3 rebate and got back $9 RR = $8 profit
Then I used the $9 RR to buy -
  • Similasan Nasal Allergy Relief Spray (0.68 oz) $6, used $1.50 coupon (4/1 SS or April All You magazine) and got back $6 RR = $1.50 profit
  • Goody Hair Elastics (27 pk) $1.99, got back $1 RR = $0.99
  • WAG Aluminum Foil $0.99 with in-circular coupon
  • 2 Dawn $0.99 each, used two $0.20 coupons (4/1 P&G) = $0.79 each
  • Used $9.99 RR, total was $0.46
This store didn't have any Pepsi Next, so I bought the foil as a substitute.  Then I headed to another WAG and did another two transactions:

  • Nasal Ease Allergy Relief (0.18 oz) $9, used $5 coupon (3/11 RP), will submit for $3 rebate and got back $9 RR = $8 profit
  • Pepsi Next (20 oz) $0.99 + $0.05 bottle deposit, got back $0.99 RR FREE
  • 2 Dawn $0.99 each, used two $0.20 coupons (4/1 P&G) = $0.79 each
  • Used $6 RR, total was $0.86
Finally, I bought:
  • Pepsi Next (20 oz) $0.99 + $0.05 bottle deposit, got back $0.99 RR FREE
  • 4 Nice Shredded Cheeses and 2 sliced swiss cheeses $1.50 each for four (with in-circular coupon), other two were $2.69 each, got back $2 RR for spending $10 on Nice items = $9.38 or $1.56 each
  • Used $9 RR, total was $2.50
I'm not sure if the cashier did this or if it was the register, but I only got the $1.50 sale price for four of the cheeses. I had planned on buying seven, but since some were more expensive, I only needed six to spend $10.  Is that something with the new registers?
When we first moved in to the house, this is what our entryway looked like.  The paneling made everything look so dark.  We ripped off the paneling and found mold behind it (blech).  Now that that's been taken care of, it was time to paint and make it pretty!

My painting partner/sister came up on Saturday to help out.  We chose a happy yellow for the first room -
and a light, airy blue for the second room!  We cleaned out each room while working on it.  Painting around the dehumidifier in the blue room was a pain in the arse.  It pumps outside, so I had to be very careful not to dislodge anything.  I let the paint dry overnight and then today I shop-vac'd the floors and swept up any remaining dust and debris.  There have been small bits of paneling everywhere since DBF ripped that down.  Once the rooms were clean, we moved all the stockpile stuff from the stockpile room to these two rooms because....
It got ripped apart!
The walls in this room were in really bad shape behind all that paneling, so da boyfriend and I ripped them down.  You wouldn't believe the dust!  My hair was gray by the time we finished.  We also found some crumpled newspaper in the walls - dated Dec. 26, 1965.  That was pretty cool.

We have to clean out all the mess, re-sheetrock the room, prime and paint.  Oh joy.  I'll be very happy when this level is done. Its been one huge mess after another.  Happily though, we can now get to all the stockpile stuff again.  When DBF took off all the paneling and found the mold, we smushed all the stuff into the center of the room and it was very difficult to get to a lot of the stuff in the back corner.

Once the stockpile room is done, the next project will be to put in carpeting on this entire level.  I hate the way these floors look and feel.  And try as I might, I cannot get them fully clean.  We're also going to change out the closet doors.  By the time we're done, this level won't look anything like it did when we bought the house.  I love that we're making everything our own, slowly but surely.

Great Gift Card Deal

ShopRite

  • Golden Delicious Apples $1.29/lb = $3.88
  • Lowes $25 gift card, got back $5 catalina = $5 profit
  • Total was $28.88
Bought three additional $25 Lowes cards - $20 profit in total.  The deal also works on Lane Bryant, Marriott and Visa gift cards.

CVS - picked up six papers and paid with EB's and a gift card

Walgreens

  • 4 Right Guard Total Defense 5 Body Wash $4.49 each, BOGO sale, used two $3 off 2 coupons (printable, no longer available) and got back $4 RR (WYB 4) = $1.02 profit
  • 10 Kleenex Tissues (100 ct) $0.99, used nine $1 coupons (bought these on ebay, they're from a Spanish paper) = $0.90 or $0.09 each
  • 16 Scotch Bubble Mailers $0.39 each
  • Total was $12.16
Walgreens registers beep when you use a coupon that's higher than the value of the item (ie. $1 coupon on $0.99 item).  But if you buy multiple items and use one less coupon, you're still paying and the registers are happy = no beeps.  I went to another store after this and used up the rest of my coupons.

Glitch Day

Check out the new Carrie Underwood song!  I just love her!

UPDATE - the Huggies wipes are no longer printing RR's.

Walgreens - first time I've set foot into Walgreens since December.  I really wanted to pick up some cheap razors for DBF.  Deals on razors have become so scarce that when I see a great deal, I am definitely stocking up.  With the profit from the Renew, they work out to be free.  The $3 coupon is no longer available but I have a copy that I'm happy to send to anyone who needs it.  Email me dear friends.

  • Renew Life Ultimate Flora Daily Care (30 cps) $10, used $3 coupon (no longer available) and got back $10 RR = $3 profit
Buyer beware - the Renew rang up for me as $24.99 in three different stores today.  Keep an eye on it and don't be afraid to ask the cashier to modify the price to $10.  Then I used that $10 RR to buy:
  • Baby Magic Dustless Baby Powder (0.28 oz) $6, send away for $6 rebate = FREE *If get money back on a Walgreens gift card, you get a 10% bonus = $0.60 profit
  • Huggies Wipes $2.49, used $0.50 coupon (2/12 SS) and got back $2 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • W Men's 5 Blade Razor $3.99, got back $3 RR = $0.99
  • Used $10 RR, total was $2.68
Then I used the RR's just earned to get more Renew -

  • Renew Life Ultimate Flora Daily Care (30 cps) $10, used $3 coupon (no longer available) and got back $10 RR = $3 profit
  • 2 Tuf Paper Towels $0.69 each with in-circular coupon
  • Used $2 RR and $3 RR, total was $3.38

Then bought another Huggies, razor and baby powder.  Rolled that back into Renew again (plus three bottles of Hydrogen Peroxide that we needed) and finally back into a third set of Huggies, razor and baby powder.  The baby powder rebate is limit one so I'll send away for one at home, one at my parent's and one at DBF's mom's house.

Don't know how long the Huggies deal will work, so if you want some, better get out there.  The following varieties are confirmed to be working: Natural Care unscented, Soft Skin and Sensitive.

Rite Aid - today I tackled the Pantene and tomorrow is Robitussin day.  I wanted to buy these on their own so I can use them towards the $15 P&G rebate WYB $50 of certain items including Pantene (Exp. 4/28).  I've spent $21 so far but it was all in "almost" free items!  Love that

  • 2 Pantene Ice Shine/Aqua Light Sham/Cond $3.50 each, used $3 off 2 coupon (2/26 SS) and got back $2 UP's ($2 WYB 2, Limit 2 offers, weekly deal) and two $1 UP's (mystery deal) = FREE
  • Total was $4.57

Then at another store, I got -

  • 4 Pantene Ice Shine/Aqua Light Sham/Cond $3.50 each, used two $3 off 2 coupons (2/26 SS) and got back two $2 UP's ($2 WYB 2, Limit 2 offers, weekly deal) and three* $1 UP's (mystery deal) = $1 or $0.25 each
  • Sally Hansen Quick Color Fast Dry Nail Polish Pen $2.07 - 75% clearance down from $8.29.  I've been wanting to try these for a while so I splurged.  I really like it!
  • Used $2 UP and two $1 UP's from first transaction, total was $7.38
*I had another two bottles to buy at this store so the cashier knew I was rolling my rewards.  I slyly handed her another card, she rang up my two bottles and scanned a $2 UP and two $1 UP's from my receipt, ripped them off and handed me back the rest.  Now that I'm looking at it, I got back a $2 UP and only ONE $1 UP.  So I'm not sure if she ripped off one too many UP's or if I only got back three $1 UP's.  Looking through some other folks posts on SD, it looks like you may only get back three $1 UP's when you buy four bottles. Still not a bad deal.

Finally (this was on a separate card from either transaction above)

  • 2 Pantene Ice Shine/Aqua Light Sham/Cond $3.50 each, used $3 off 2 coupon (2/26 SS) and got back $2 UP's ($2 WYB 2, Limit 2 offers, weekly deal) and two $1 UP's (mystery deal) = FREE
  • Used $2 UP and two $1 UP's, total was $0.57

Problematic Perfume

Rite Aid

  • Halle Berry Pure Orchid Fragrance Set $12.79 ($15.99 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), used $5 coupon (from coupons.com, don't see it anymore) and got back $5 UP (Limit 2) = $2.79
  • Celion Dion Sensational Fragrance Set $12.79 ($15.99 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), used $5 coupon (from coupons.com, don't see it anymore) and got back $5 UP (Limit 2) = $2.79
  • Used four $1 UP's, $1.99 UP, $2 UP and $5 UP, total was $3.54
FYI - these coupons beeped.  The first store I went to refused to honor them because they said "redeemable at Walmart" (as opposed to "redeemable only at Walmart").  I chatted with Customer Service when I got back and they said they'd give the store a call to let them know that was ok.  In the meantime, I picked these up at another store.

This should bring my Wellness points to a smidge over 800.  I'm getting there!

CVS

  • 2 Smuckers Jellies $2.50 each, used $1 off 2 coupon (11/6 RP) - got back a $3 EB because I had a raincheck from several weeks ago for these
  • 2 Popcorn Indiana Kettlecorns $2.50 each, used two $1 coupons (9/25 SS) = $1.50 each
  • Rice Chex $2.87, got back $2 EB (raincheck price & EB deal from Black Friday) = $0.87
  • Scotch Masking Tape $4.79 - horrible price but we needed it
  • Used $2 EB, $3 EB, $3.99 EB (adjusted down to $3.66) and $6 EB, total was $0.13
All of the food items count towards the spend $30, get a $10 giftcard promo this week.  I'm up to $17.87 now.  I also picked up a raincheck for Gold Emblem (CVS brand) vanilla extract for $0.88.  Spices are on sale this week and the sale includes the pure vanilla extract!  That's a steal of a price.

Walgreens

  • 2 Dozen Eggs $0.99 each
  • 2 Morton Salts $0.50 each with in-circular coupon
  • Used $2 RR, total was $0.98

Upping my Points

mb left me a comment the other day asking how many points I'm up to on my RiteAid cards.  You have to reach 1000 before the end of the year to earn/maintain your 20% Wellness discount for the upcoming year.  I'm good on my card, but DBF's card is only at 740 something.  Thanks for the reminder mb!  Ever feel like your brain is so chock full of stuff its gonna 'splode?  Anyway, I decided to get some freebies that otherwise I would have passed on:

Store 1:
  • Colgate Advanced Toothpaste (5.8 oz) $3.50, got back $3.50 UP (Limit 4) = FREE
  • Arm & Hammer Simply Saline Baby Nasal Wipes $5.19 ($6.49 reg price, 20% discount), will submit for TMF rebate (found on package) = FREE
  • Hartz Cat Litter Scooper $1.83 ($2.29 reg price, 20% discount), will get back $1.25 (SCR #49 - WYB any pet accessory) = $0.58
  • Used $6 UP, total was $4.90
I didn't have any Colgate coupons on me for this trip, I really just wanted to see where my points were.  I stopped home, got my Colgate coupons and headed out to another store for a rinse and repeat:
  • 3 Colgate Advanced Toothpastes (5.8 oz) $3.50 each, used three $1 coupons (*these beeped, Diabetes & You magazine found at WAG, Fall 2011 edition) and got back three $3.50 UP's (Limit 4) = $3 profit
  • Arm & Hammer Simply Saline Baby Nasal Wipes $4.79 ($5.99 reg price, 20% discount), will submit for TMF rebate (found on package) = FREE
  • Hartz Cat Litter Scooper $1.83 ($2.29 reg price, 20% discount), will get back $1.25 (SCR #49 - WYB any pet accessory) = $0.58
  • Used $3.50 UP, total was $11.49
I've been on the hunt for Keri lotion all week, but its been really hard to find.

Then off to Walgreens:
  • Healthifeet Foot Cream (4 oz) $10, used $2 coupon and will send away for Walgreens $10 rebate (plus 10% bonus when I select a WAG gift card as the format, Limit 2) = $3 profit
  • 2 Clabber Girl Baking Powders $0.50 with in-circular coupon, used two $0.50 coupons = FREE
  • Nice Baking Soda $0.50 with in-circular coupon
  • Used $2 RR, total was $7.20
I had a hard time finding the baking powder in stores.  I finally found some on an endcap with other baking items, but many stores in my area didn't have any.  One Asst. Manager I spoke with said they'd be getting more in soon and that it would likely go on sale again for $0.50 during the holiday season.

Everyday I'm Bu-Buff-er-in

Happy Halloween everyone!  We got doused in a major snowstorm this past weekend and I got over a foot of snow.  Luckily my power's on, but many areas around me lost power from tree limbs falling on wires.  There are downed trees everywhere.

I thought I'd finally be able to share a picture of my hounding today.  Got the camera, got da boyfriend's computer but sadly, I forgot my USB cable.  It was not to be.  Here's what I got:

Walgreens

  • Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops (19 ct) $2, got back $2 RR = FREE
*There's a BOGO coupon for these in the 10/2 SS but this was an impromptu trip and I didn't have it on me.  I noticed the package says these are an oral anesthetic, which I think means they'll numb your throat, right?  I'm not crazy about that feeling so I probably won't get any more.

Rite Aid

  • Bufferin (130 ct) $6.99, used $3 coupon (10/16 SS) and will get back $6 (SCR #10) = $2.01 profit
  • Hartz Clumping Cat Litter Scooper $1.83 ($2.29 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), will get back $1.25 (SCR #49 - WYB any pet accessory) = $0.58
  • Used $5 UP, total was $0.95
Figure its always nice to have an extra (clean) scooper lying around.

At a separate store, I got:

  • Bufferin (130 ct) $6.99, used $3 coupon (10/16 SS) and will get back $6 (SCR #10) = $2.01 profit
  • 3 Hartz Crunch & Clean Dog Treats $3.99 each, one was 50% off so $2.49, used two $0.50 peelie coupons and Hartz Duck Quackers Toy $4.79 ($5.99 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), will get back $4 (SCR #52, WYB $15 of Hartz toys, treats or rawhides) = $10.26 or $2.56 per item
  • Used $2 UP and $5 UP, total was $13.39
Thought all the Hartz items were BOGO 50% off, but I only got the 50% discount one of the four items I bought.  It worked out ok though, my total was $15.26 for the Hartz items.  I had three $0.50 peelie coupons but just realized the cashier missed one.

A Little Bit of This and That

CVS - found a store that had the Newton Fruit Thins so I picked up a box of the blueberry variety, used my FREE CRT coupon from the other day.  They're pretty good!  Also picked up four bottles of Dawn Plus Detergent for $0.24 ($0.99 sale price minus $0.75 coupon from 8/28 P&G).  I was able to find a store with another Air Wick in stock, so I got my $10 EB for buying $20 worth of household items.  Well, technically $19.96 but the EB still printed.

Walgreens
  • 2 Scott Naturals Paper Towels $5, used $1 coupon (9/11 SS) and $1 WAG coupon (monthly coupon booklet) = $3 each
  • 3 Lindt Truffles $0.39 each
  • Used three $2 RR's, total was $1.25
Also went to ShopRite where I picked up some cheap Romaine lettuce - 3 pack for $1.49, grapes for $0.99 a pound and FREE Kikkoman Teriyaki sauce.  It was $0.99 a bottle and I used this $0.55 coupon (I also found peelies in the store).

Cheap Mayo

Used up some of my Mitchum $2 RR's last night at Walgreens on:
  • 2 Hellmann's Mayo $2.99 each with in-circular coupon, also used $1 monthly coupon = $1.99 each
  • Crisco Oil $2.49 with in-circular coupon
  • WAG Swiss Cheese $3.29
  • Ruffles Chips $0.99 (small bag)
  • Used five $2 RR's, total was $0.87
I used to be very particular about what I spent my RR's on, careful to roll them into other RR deals.  Now I'm perfectly content to spend them on food.  Maybe I'm just getting lazy or it could be the uninspirational deals lately.  How about you?  What are you picking up this week?
