I'm Finally Done!

Its Thursday, the last day of A&P's weekly sales...thank goodness -- I'm beat!

Jeez, would you look at this picture?? Not only is it totally crooked, but I count 12 boxes of cereal there. Umm, there should only be 8. I had a bunch of boxes on the table ready to take downstairs, and I just put them in the picture. Sigh, I need a nap...

Walgreens Store 1

  • 2 Pert Plus for Men shampoos $2.50 each, used two $1.50 coupons (5/3 SS) and got back $2 RR for buying 2 = FREE
  • Right Guard Deodorant $2.99, used $1 coupon (4/19 SS) and got back $2 RR = FREE
  • Chicken of the Sea tuna $1.24 with in-circular coupon
  • Used $5 RR, total was $0.80

Store 2

  • Right Guard Deodorant $2.99, used $1 coupon (4/19 SS) and got back $2 RR = FREE
  • Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste (4.6 - 6 0z.) $4.49, used $0.50 coupon (4/26 SS) and got back $4.50 RR = $0.51 profit
  • Ramen noodles $0.29
  • Used $5 RR, total was $1.80

A&P - bought all this stuff over the past two days

  • 4 boxes Post Shredded Wheat $2 each, used two $1 off 2 coupons (3/29 SS) and got back $4 catalina = FREE
  • 2 Capri Sun sunrise juices $2 each, used three $1 coupons (4/19 SS) = FREE
  • Total was $4.18

Then I bought

  • 4 boxes Post Shredded Wheat $2 each, used two $1 off 2 coupons (3/29 SS) and got back $4 catalina = FREE
  • 4 Tampax tampons $2.88 each, used two $1 off 2 coupons (5/3 P&G) = $7.52
  • 5 Oral B Indicator toothbrushes $1.99 each, used five $1 coupons (5/3 P&G) = $0.05 profit
  • Got back $10 catalina for any gift card (for buying $25 of P&G products, based on shelf prices - not sale prices) = $2.53 profit
  • Total was $11.82

Then I bought

  • 4 boxes Post Shredded Wheat $2 each, used two $1 off 2 coupons (3/29 SS) and got back $4 catalina = FREE
  • Total was $4, qualified for my last $10 A&P gift card = $10 profit

Finally I bought

  • 2 Secret deodorants $2.99 each, used $1 off 2 coupon (5/3 P&G) = $3.98
  • Oral B Indicator toothbrush $1.99, used $1 coupon (5/3 P&G) = $0.01 profit
  • 6 Crest toothpastes $1.99 each, used six $1 coupons (5/3 P&G) = $0.06 profit

Got back a catalina for $10 off any gift card = $6.09 profit

  • 6 Hillshire Farms deli meats clearanced to $1.99 each = $11.94
  • Total was $16.69

I had planned on using some catalinas to pay for the deli meat but I chickened out. The self checkout cashier was right by the register I was using and the head Customer Service guy was floating around in the area too. I was afraid the catalina might beep, they'd come over and see I used more than five coupons and take some off. Since today was the last day of the sale, its not like I could go to another store or come back the next day. In hindsight, I probably should have bought the meat separately, but oh well. My brain is 99% fried at this point anyway.

A&P Summary - my oh my, what a fun week at A&P! Here's what I ended up getting (I didn't calculate in tax for simplicity's sake, most things were tax-free anyway):

  • 2 Secret deodorants, Oral B toothbrush and 6 Crest toothpastes = $6.09 profit
  • 7 boxes Post Trail Mix Crunch = $5.25 profit
  • 4 Tampax and 5 Oral B toothbrushes = $2.53 profit
  • 3 Bumble Bee tuna pouches = $0.30 profit
  • 24 boxes Post Shredded Wheat = FREE
  • 14 boxes Post Raisin Bran = FREE
  • 19 boxes Capri Sunrise juice = FREE
  • 3 Kraft cheeses = FREE
  • 7 DanActive yogurts = FREE
  • 7 Bertolli pasta sauces = FREE
  • 6 Hershey's Dark chocolate bars = FREE
  • 5 boxes Nabisco crackers (Triscuits and Wheat Thins) = $0.50 a box
  • 2 Pringles Minis = $0.19 each

I had a bunch of problems with A&P this week. One store's catalina printers did NOT print any Post catalinas for whatever reason and another store's purchases did not add on to what I'd already purchased towards the $40 total. Catalina printers jammed or were turned off and on one occasion, I got a super snippy cashier. But all in all, I'd say it was definitely worth the trouble! I ended up with four $10 A&P gift cards, two $10 catalinas for gift cards, seven $0.75 catalinas and nine $4 catalinas. All in all, that's a profit of $51.29 (I think anyway -- have I said I'm really tired??). I'm really not a cereal person, so all these boxes are going to family and friends and the rest will be donated.

Thank you so much dancinmama, pubbler, Mississippi, saphira and Dhunny for the coupons you sent me! :)

Can you tell me if you can use the $5 off $30 CVS coupon (e-mailed out today) more then once? Will it beep? I know you will be the girl to ask!!

Kathy,
You know, I'm really not sure! Do they say "one use only" or anything like that? I get those email coupons so infrequently.

Wow, I bet you are beat! Nice hounding! Now go take a nap, although I am assuming you slept last night, so you are probably good!

central,
I definitely am! It feels like to be done, but now I have to figure out what to spend all those catalinas on!

It says limit one per customer...but my sister received the same e-mail and it is EXACTLY the same coupon. So is it a generic one (meaning anyone can use it, even meaning more than once).

Kathy,
I'd give it a try and see what happens. The worst is that they can say no, right? :)
