Glade, I Wish I Knew How to Quit You...

So I really hadn't planned on going after the ShopRite Glade catalina deal. Really! But that darn Glade, it calls to me. "Buy me, buy me, frugalsuz! I'll make you a $3 profit!" Allright, fine! But this is the last time Glade...probably.
ShopRite #1 - before work
  • 5 Glade Scented Oil Candles $2.49 each (bought two different varieties, its limit 4 of any of the same scent), used four $2.50 coupons (adjusted to $2.49, 12/7 SS) and one $2 coupon (found inside packages of candles I bought previously, but not these ones! hehe)
  • Total was $1.31 (basically just tax) and got back $4 catalina = $2.69 profit

ShopRite #2 - before work

  • 4 Glade Scented Oil Candles $2.49 each, used four $2.50 coupons (adjusted to $2.49, 12/7 SS) = FREE
  • Glade Scented Oil Candle Refill 3 pack $1.99, used freebie coupon (got from contacting Glade about the expired coupons in the packages in link above) = FREE
  • Total was $1.32 and got back $4 catalina = $2.68 profit

ShopRite #3 - lunch break - no Glade products of any kind in sight. I think all the NJ hounds get together and raid this store because its forever out of stock of any decent sale items. :)

  • 3 Pretzelfills $1.84 each, used three $0.75 coupons (12/14 RP) = $0.34 each, total was $1.02

ShopRite #1 - after work

  • 3 Pretzelfills $1.84 each, used three $0.75 coupons (12/14 RP) = $0.34 each
  • 3 Glade Scented Oil Candles $2.49 each, used two $2 coupons (found inside packages of candles I bought previously) and one BOGO coupon = $0.98
  • 2 Glade Scented Oil Candle Refill 3 packs $1.99 each, used two freebie coupons (sent to me from Glade) = FREE
  • Total was $2.82 and got back $4 catalina = $1.18 profit

I have an entire cabinet devoted to Glade at the moment. It's getting out of hand. I think we should start a support group!

I know how you feel. I have a Glade problem also. When things are free or free plus overage there is just no way to pass them up!!!!!

I hope you're not talking about my SR in Edison in that Shop Rite #3 transaction. I still haven't been yet this week. But, I think you might be :o(

You already clean out my Stop and Shop! lol j/k!

P.S.- I still don't understand how you get those good coupons and I don't. We get the same paper every sunday. It perplexes me...

That's fantastic! I wish we had a Shoprite around here!

I love it! I wish we had these deals around here, but no such luck. I did get all of those scented oil candles at Wags though - that is what I gave out for office presents since we cant have real candles there :)

Elisabeth,
At the rate I'm going, I'm going to need a separate room just for Glade! :)

Amiyrah,
That's the one. :( That store is always mobbed and out of stock. Maybe they'll get a new truck in before you go.

What paper do you buy? I always get either the Star Ledger or when I'm up in my boyfriend's neck of the woods, The Record. I've found that The Daily Record has horrible coupons so even though that's cheaper, I don't buy that paper.

We are in different counties, maybe that makes a difference? But I agree, its pretty weird.

R the pretzelfills on sale or is that the regular price. I have some coupons on those..

Tina,
I think the $1.84 is a sale price. But don't worry if you miss the sale, it seems like SR is putting these at this price every couple weeks. And I think they're really yummy too. :)

suz,

I get the ledger every sunday. I can get home news tribune or the courier too, but they have the worst coupons so I don't waste the money on them. I might start getting the Times since my CVS sells it. Saphira said they have better coupons in that one.

Went to the SR today and no holders :(. They had a big display of the refills though. I'm going to run by there tomorrow and see if they get any more holders in....I forgot to get a raincheck today.

That's great! I don't know how Glade is staying in business, paying us to take their products and all!
