These are a Few of my (least) Favorite Things

Today I got around to running some errands that I just dread. I dropped off two suit jackets at the dry cleaner - I usually use Dryel but these needed a good pressing. I can hardly wait to see the bill (not!). Then I dropped off a bunch of recycling at the town's center and donated some clothes while I was at it. I don't mind doing this, its just out of the way so I wait until I have a good pile to bring over. Then it was time for a long overdue hair cut. I don't mind the actual cutting of my hair, but I'm not wild about sitting there making small talk with someone I don't know trying to find something to look at other than my reflection in the mirror. Its just uncomfortable. I really liked the stylist today though, she did a great job. She put a glaze on my hair to cover the blond highlights that I'm growing out and now the color looks even all over. I love the way it came out and my hair feels healthy again. Its getting pretty long and the ends were terrible. Its nice to get back to my natural color and be a brunette again. Finally, I got my car washed. I am terrible with car washes. I probably haven't had it washed since last winter. I hate going! My windows were already grimy with salt (its only January 9!) and it was getting hard to see, so I had to go. Then when all those yucky errands were done, I did some fun stuff... ShopRite
  • 6 Ronzoni's $0.59 each
  • Total was $3.49 after $0.05 bag discount
Walgreens - hit up a bunch of stores to use up the last bunch of Bayer coupons I had. I'm also starting to use the rewards now, so I don't have to rush to use them later on. I wish you had more time than 2 weeks.
  • 3 Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubber Refills - clearanced to $0.90 each, will submit for $5 SC Johnson rebate (WYB 3, Limit 3 offers per household) = $2.30 profit
  • 6 Whiskas Temptations cat treats two for $4 (Mega Saver so the prices are all wonky), used three $1 off 2 coupons (12/6 RP) = $9 or $1.50 each
  • $15 TGIF gift card
  • First three Twilight books $7.99 each - just realized I bought two of the first book, so I'll have to return that. I really thought I had picked up a copy of the first three! Duh!
  • Used four $5 RR's and four $6 RR's, total was $4.38

At another store I burned some more RR's. Sometimes its fun to just "shop"

  • 2 Whiskas Temptations cat treats two for $4 (Mega Saver so the prices are all wonky), used $1 off 2 coupon (12/6 RP) = $3 or $1.50 each
  • $15 Wendy's gift card
  • Ice Cube Tray $2.79
  • 2 Walgreens napkins $2.49 each
  • Kitty laser toy $4.99
  • Used six $5 RR's, total was $1.59

Now for the been-there, done-that transaction - did this twice

  • Bayer Breeze 2 Blood Glucose Meter $14.99, used freebie coupon (10/25 RP) and got back $5 RR = $5 profit
  • Bayer Contour Blood Glucose Meter $14.99, use freebie coupon (10/25 RP) and get back $5 RR = $5 profit
  • One a Day Women's Active Mind & Body Vitamins (50 ct) or regular variety (100 ct) $6.99, used $1 coupon (10/25 RP - $2 Q in 1/3 SS) and got back $6 RR for buying three Bayer items = FREE/$0.01 profit *$10.01 profit all together for Bayer items
  • 3 Ramen noodles three for $1
  • Used three $2 RR's, total was $0.99

Isn't this adorable? I have a laser that I use to play with my kitties but the one my sister uses died. I figured Bootz and Freckles would love this one.

        "YEAH! LASER TOYS ROCK!"

Thanks for mentioning the scubbing bubbles clearance. Mine was $1.79 but I love these things for my shower.

That cat looks like my Punkin! I did the Bayar deal last night. It was the first time they've not let me do the transaction more than once. I live 45 minutes away so it's not like I can come back everyday! Oh well, DBF works between tow of them so I gave him my Qs to pick some up.

Have you read the Twilight books yet? I'm a big fan of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels but once I finished reading thru those twice I promised my sister I'd read Twilight. I found the first 250 pages very boring...lol...but it's getting more interesting!

I'm curious about using rr's to buy gift cards too. My rr's fine print excludes gift cards, does this vary regionally? Or is it that they don't beep so the cashier is none the wiser? It would be great if I could but I like to stay under the radar so I've never tried.

        Shelly,
That's my sister's cat Bootz. He's a nut and loves posing for the camera so I get such good shots with him. That stinks that your store won't let you do a couple transactions. Maybe they were having a rough day.

        Stephanie,
I hardly ever buy a book that I haven't read, just in case I won't like it. I read the whole Twilight series in about a week last year. I could not put them down! Its so funny you mention Sookie - I'm reading that series again right now! My mom got it for me for Christmas and I can't get enough. I love that the series is still going, so there's always more to read.

        Marci,
As far as I know, all RR's exclude gift cards but they don't beep. I've never had a problem. I buy them pretty much only when I'm buying a bunch of things so they are hidden. I wouldn't try just buying a gift card because I think that would probably get flagged. If the cashier said no, I'd probably say something like - "oh I'm so sorry, I didn't realize they weren't valid on gift cards" and just play dumb.

        Precious,
Its fun scouting out new stores isn't it? I was promoted back in August and now I'm working in a different part of the state and I'm still doing some exploring.

They are by far my favorite books! I can't wait till May, I've already pre-ordered the new one on Amazon : )

        Stephanie,
Ooh, May is just around the corner. I can't wait either! :)

Thanks Frugalsuz for the confirmation that rr's won't beep on gift cards.
Another question for you. Do you know if the wording on the CVS Bioluxe rebate is restricted to certain states? I'm in Florida and can't find the TMF tag in any local store (over a dozen). I would love to convert some EBs to a CVS giftcard (I know I missd the BOGO sale but I would donate it to charity anyways.) I am willing to trade two Contour/Breeze2 (up to $30) q's for a TMF tag. I dumpster-dive for them so no big lose to me. If you can get an extra tag, my email is tempestmargaret at gmail dot com. If not, no worries.
