Not Feelin' the Love Today

TOTAL PROFIT FOR JANUARY: $207.51
Walgreens
  • 6 South Beach cereal bars $2.50 each, used six $2 coupons (it will let you print as many as you want) and will get back $5.50 ($5 + 10% bonus, ESR #29) = $2.50 profit
  • Half gallon milk (forgot to put in pic) $2.49
  • Used $4 RR, total was $1.49, overall profit $0.01 (ooh! lol)
Rite Aid (submit under DBF's name)
  • 10 Soy Joy bars $0.50 each, used $3 off 10 coupon (1/4 SS) and will get back $5 (SCR #54) = $3 profit
CVS
Store #1 - my card - such issues here. I picked up three bottles of Infusium shampoo on clearance for $1.80 each. The cashier and shift supervisor would not adjust the coupons down to $1.80 and would not put them through as $3 for overage. So I said no thanks, please take the Infusium off the order. I realized when I got home that she only took one bottle off the order! So I paid for two bottles, didn't use any coupons (because I thought they were taken off the total) and left the store without any Infusium. Grr...update - went back to the store and the manager didn't understand why they wouldn't adjust the coupons down b/c that is CVS policy (thank you!). He gave me back the money I paid for the Infusium ($3.60) and sold me three bottles using my adjusted $3 coupons.
  • 2 bags CVS pretzels $0.79 each, one was $0.39 with BOGO 50% off sale, used $1 off 2 CRT coupon = $0.18
  • 3 Infusium conditioners - clearanced to $1.80, used three $3 coupons (adjusted to $1.80 each, 12/28 P&G) = FREE
  • CVS cotton squares marked as $5.99 but rings up as $3.49, used $3 CVS brand purchase coupon and got back $1 EB (hidden monthly deal, limit 5) = $0.51 profit
  • Vitamin shampoo $6.99, will submit for Try Me Free rebate on bottle = FREE
  • Listerine Whitening Pen $10, used $2 coupon and $3 CVS Beauty Book coupon (found in store, pic here) = $5 (get back $10 EB when you spend $20)
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $12 EB, total was $3.41 but after the refund for Infusium (and when I return the Listerine - see below), it was really negative $8.80, overall profit $4.98

Cashier and shift supervisor would NOT allow me to use the $2 coupon and the $3 CVS coupon for the Listerine together. BUT, the shift supervisor took my $2 coupon to another register, opened it up and gave me $2 cash. I have no idea how that's any different than me using both together, but whatever.

I should have received a $10 EB b/c I bought another Listerine Pen the other day. But it didn't print. Hmm, me thinks, that's odd. But after all the issues I'd had with my coupons, I figured I'd just call the 1-800 # when I got home rather than dealing with the cashier again.

Store #2 - DBF's card

  • Listerine Whitening Pen $10, used $2 coupon and $3 CVS Beauty Book coupon (found in store, pic here) = $5 (get back $10 EB when you spend $20)
  • Olay Definity Mousse cleanser - clearanced to $5, used $3 coupon (12/28 P&G) and will count for half of what I need for $15 gift card rebate (submit at parent's address) = $2
  • CVS juice $2.59, used $3 CVS brand purchase coupon = $0.41 profit
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $1 EB, $2 EB, total was negative $10 after the Listerine return, overall profit was $6.20

When the EB's for Listerine didn't print here either, I asked the cashier about it. We finally figured out that I'd already reached my limit on this deal because of the Stayfree I bought earlier in the week. I hadn't looked closely at the circular and didn't realize it was all the same deal. So I returned the Listerine pen and got back $3.80 (what I actually paid in EB's and gift card money) on a gift card.

Store #3

  • Gold Emblem sparkling water 6 pack $3.97, used $3 CVS brand purchase coupon and got back $2 EB (hidden monthly deal, limit 5) = $1.03 profit
  • Soy Joy specially marked 6 pack box $6 and got back $6 ECB (reported being Limit 10) = FREE
  • Olay Definity Mousse cleanser - clearanced to $5, used $3 coupon (12/28 P&G) and will count as other half of what I need for $15 gift card rebate (submit at parent's address) = $11 profit
  • Candy cane chocolate - clearanced 75% off (filler) $0.25
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $6 EB, total was $0.22, overall profit $16.78

Store #4, transaction 1

  • 2 Children's Throat Cooler Ice Pops (6 ct.) $4.99 each, used BOGO coupon (or 12/7 SS) and got back $9.98 EB ($4.99 each, Limit 5) = $4.99 profit *Register would not allow me to also use the $1 coupon I found inside a package I bought previously.
  • Soy Joy specially marked 6 pack box $6 and got back $6 EB (reported being Limit 10) = FREE
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $1 EB, $6 EB, total was $0.99, overall profit $7.99

Store #4, transaction 2 - I should have bought these separately so I could send in for both the Olay and Nasogel rebates. Maybe I'll return and rebuy if I'm feeling ambitious.

  • 2 Olay Definity Mousse cleansers - clearanced to $5 each, used two $3 coupons (12/28 P&G) and will submit for $15 gift card rebate (in DBF's name) = $11 profit
  • Nasogel Drip Free Gel Spray (1.52 oz) $7.99, used $2 coupon and got back $7.99 EB (Limit 2) = $2 profit
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $4.99 EB, total was $2.14, overall profit was $15.86

I tried to return the other Listerine Pens I'd previously bought here at store #4. But they were giving me such a hard time and only wanted to give me back $2.55 (what I actually paid after all coupons and EB's were taken off the order). Obviously that's not right because EB's are a form of payment and I should get that money back. So I took everything back and I'll return them at a store that knows what they're doing.

Sorry you had such a tough day.

No need to return the nasogels....for the NeilMed rebate you only need to send a copy of the receipt in.

Wow! You need a hug! You sure had so many issues today with CVS. I hate it when that happens. Great deals you got!
