From the frugalsuz kitchen

CVS
  • Physician's Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth Boosting Concealer $13.79, used $3 peelie coupon, $15 CRT (this says PF skincare, so YMMV), got back $7 EB (Limit 1) and will submit for TMF rebate (up to $12.95 - have to include TMF sticker, I had one already) = $24.16 profit
  • 3 Hallmark Cards $1.99 each, used $3 coupon, CRT for one free card (took off $2.50), and got back $3 EB (Limit 1) = $2.53 profit
  • Blink Tears (0.5 oz) or Gel Tears (0.34 oz) $8.99, used $1 coupon (or here or here) and got back $8.99 EB (Limit 1) = $1 profit
  • CVS sour patch kids $0.88
  • Used $5 EB, total was $1.21, got back $1 EB for using green bag

Then on another card, I did just about the same thing.  The $3 peelie coupon for the PF beeped for some reason, so I didn't use that.

  • Physician's Formula Organic Wear Lash Boosting Mascara $10.49, used $15 CRT (this says PF skincare, so YMMV), got back $7 EB (Limit 1) and will submit for TMF rebate (up to $9.95 - have to include TMF sticker, I still have to find one for this rebate) = $21.46 profit
  • 3 Hallmark Cards $1.99 each, used $3 coupon and got back $3 EB (Limit 1) = FREE/$0.03 profit
  • Blink Tears (0.5 oz) or Gel Tears (0.34 oz) $8.99, used $1 coupon (or here or here) and got back $8.99 EB (Limit 1) = $1 profit
  • Used $2 EB, total was $5.60

The baking continues!  I've had the baking bug lately - made chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, strawberry/banana muffins and tonight da boyfriend requested these beauties - PB&J muffins!  They were a bit of a hassle.  I heated up the peanut butter a bit and it was too hot because it scrambled the egg I threw in.  Sigh.  Don't do that.  After that, everything was ok but they were a bit time intensive.  You pour a small layer of batter into the muffin cups, then smoosh it down to create a hole, put the jelly in and then finish off with some batter on top.  They're very tasty, but next time, I'll definitely put more jelly in each muffin.  I put just about a teaspoon and they're a little dry.
This is my recipe binder.  When I find a recipe online or in a magazine that I want to try, I put it in these sheet protectors.  I can keep the recipe right on the counter or post it on the fridge while I'm cooking without worrying about spilling anything and ruining the page.  I can't wait to try that cake - how good does that look?  Its from the most recent issue of Better Homes & Gardens and is made using lemonade concentrate.  Yum!

WTG Betty Crocker! LOL. I think my kids would LOVE the PB&J muffins. I'll have to whip up a batch. I like the sheet protector idea, I use a photo album that holds 4x6s, it protects the recipes too ;)

I have the same process with the recipe binder. Although, I admit it needs some serious organizational attention right now. I keep thinking on a rainy day. Regardless, it works great.

P.S. How to do combine the urge to bake with not gaining weight? Do you workout a lot or are you just blessed with thin genes?

Sheila,
Suzie Homemaker, here I come! haha

Michelle,
Unfortunately thin genes don't run in my family. I eat in moderation and DBF eats the rest. :)
