Three Hours...$48.95 Profit

UPDATE - the allergy meds at WAG cleared for the rebate! :)

Today was so much fun! Almost everything I bought today was on clearance. I don't normally go after clearance deals I read about online because they vary so much from store to store, but I hit the jackpot today.

Walgreens - gave WAG coupon first, then manufacturer's coupon for Garnier, wasn't able to use all four - I think the last coupon may have been hitting the tax
  • 4 Garnier Fructis Melting Masks - clearanced to $2.19 each, used three $1 coupons (11/9 RP) and $2 WAG coupon (Jan. ESR booklet, scanned four times) = $2.24 profit
  • 3 Wal-Dryl 24 count packages - clearanced to $0.90 each and I'm hoping they'll count for $5.50 rebate ($5 + 10% bonus, ESR #9) = $2.80 profit
  • Christmas gift tags clearanced 75% off $0.49
  • Total was $1.60, paid with gift card - zero OOP, $3.90 overall profit
Store #2 - gave manufacturer's coupons first, then WAG coupons, worked much better
  • 5 Garnier Fructis Melting Masks - clearanced to $2.19 each, used five $1 coupons (11/9 RP) and $2 WAG coupon (Jan. ESR booklet, scanned five times) = $4.05 profit
  • Orajel Cold Sore 8 pack patches $8.49, used $1 coupon (10/26 SS), will submit for Try Me Free rebate (10/26 SS) and get back $9.33 ($8.49 + 10% bonus, ESR #1) = $10.33 profit
  • Total was $4.21, paid with gift card - zero OOP, $13.62 overall profit

The Pantene was not marked as being on clearance in all stores, so make sure you scan the bottles to see the price. Some stores had different clearance prices as well. One store I stopped in had them down to $2.50 each, so I didn't buy any there.

CVS - Store #1 - my card
  • 2 Reeses pieces $0.50 each - filler - thought Pantene was going to be higher
  • 4 Pantene Extra Straight Shampoo three were $1.25 and fourth was $3.50 (figure that one out!), used two $3 off 2 Pantene coupons (12/28 P&G) and got back $4 ECB ($2 ECB for every 2 you buy, Limit 5) = $2.75 profit
  • Glucerna shakes $10.49, used $10 coupon (counts towards spend $20, get $5 ECB deal, Limit 1) = $0.49
  • 2 Soyjoy specially marked packages of six bars $6 each, got back $12 ECB ($6 ECB for each, Limit 5, hidden monthly deal 1/1 - 2/14) = FREE
  • CVS garbage bags $3.69, used $3 CVS brand purchase coupon = $0.69
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $5 ECB and $6.99, total was $0.44, got back $1 ECB for Fall spending, $4.57 profit overall

Store #2 - my card

  • 4 Pantene Texturize Shampoos $1.25 each, used two $3 off 2 Pantene coupons (12/28 P&G) and got back $4 ECB ($2 ECB for every 2 you buy, Limit 5) = $5 profit
  • 2 CVS sponges $2.49 each, BOGO 50% off sale, used $3 CVS brand purchase coupon = $0.73 for both
  • Cristophe Color Shield Hair Spray $4.99 (sale price), used $5 peelie coupon (expired yesterday but she pushed it through) = $0.01 profit
  • NasoGel Drip Free Gel Spray (1.52 oz) $7.99, used $2 coupon and got back $7.99 ECB (Limit 2) = $2 profit
  • Glucerna shakes $10.49, used $10 coupon (counts towards spend $20, get $5 ECB deal, Limit 1) and got back $5 ECB = $4.02 profit
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $2 ECB, total was $1.60, $13.39 overall profit

Store #3 - DBF's card

  • 8 Pantene Texturize Shampoo and Conditioners $1.25 each, used four $1 coupons (says for stylers, but has the same code as shampoos and went through with no beeps, 12/28 P&G) and got back $8 ECB ($2 ECB for every 2 you buy, Limit 5) = $2 profit
  • CVS garbage bags $4.79, used $3 CVS brand purchase coupon = $1.79
  • NasoGel Drip Free Gel Spray (1.52 oz) $7.99, used $2 coupon and got back $7.99 ECB (Limit 2) = $2 profit
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $3 ECB, $6 ECB, got back $1 ECB for Fall spending, total was $1.78, $6.21 overall profit

Store #4 - DBF's card

  • 2 Soyjoy specially marked packages of six bars $6 each, got back $12 ECB ($6 ECB for each, Limit 5, hidden monthly deal 1/1 - 2/14) = FREE
  • 2 CVS sponges $2.49 each, BOGO 50% off sale, used $3 CVS brand purchase coupon = $0.73 for both
  • 2 Children's Throat Cooler Ice Pops (6 ct.) $4.99 each, used BOGO coupon (or 12/7 SS) and got back $9.98 ($4.99 for each, Limit 2) = $4.99 profit
  • Used $3 off $15 coupon, $2 ECB, $11.98 ECB, total was $0.74, $7.26 overall profit

This is great. I am surprised you didnt add in the throat pops. Its a $5 MM - you should go do those on both cards to build up the ECB even more!

I am curious, what do you do with all of your extra products? There is no way you could use that many Garnier masks in 3 years! LOL. I am thinking about saving up my extra items for my mom's garage sale. I did that last year at the last second, sold the items for $.50-$1 each, and made a lot of money off of it.

I do have to ask - have you had trouble with the printable coupons from Erica's site? I have heard bad stories, but so far I have not experienced any problems. Thanks!

Thanks all! This definitely was a lot of fun. I just wish I'd bought more papers last week - I only got 4 instead of my usual 6. Figures, huh? :)

Sarah,
The throat coolers are in there. I bought 2 yesterday and I'll buy two more on my other card sometime soon. I really love these Garnier masks, so I'll definitely use those. I use them like regular conditioner and they work really nicely. Anything that I buy that I know I won't use, won't use before it expires or just have too much of - I'll either give to family and friends or donate. I'm actually way overdue to take stuff to my local food pantry. Its hard for me to get there with my work hours, so I usually have to wait until I have a day off from work during the week to go. I'm off next Friday, so keep an eye out for that post. :)

The coupons on Erica's website are sometimes hit or miss. I didn't have any problems with the $3 off $15 coupon, but the $3 CVS brand purchase coupon wouldn't scan. The cashiers just entered it manually.

Man, I wish my CVS had Pantene that cheap! I got two for $2.50 each. But in the end I only paid 10 cents in tax (with coupon and ECBs) so I'm happy. :-)
I'll be buying several papers this weekend so I can try to catch up to you with all of the great deals you get! Wish me luck! :-)

Sashafras,
That sounds like a great deal to me! I really love Pantene shampoo so I was happy to get it for free. I can't wait for Sunday's coupons! I'm gonna buy 10 copies - a new record for me. :)
