New Addition to the Family

Say hello to Minnie!  Isn't she adorable?  My sister took her in a couple months back.  She belonged to my sister's friend, who kept her outside 90% of the time and could no longer keep her once her daughter became allergic to the dog.  She's about 12 years old so my sister volunteered to take her in, rather than having her go to a shelter.
I don't understand people who get pets and then just leave them outside and alone all the time.  Dogs are not lawn ornaments.  They need love and attention.
"Can I please come inside with you?"  How could you say no to those beautiful eyes?
Now she has a much better life, living inside a cozy condo with my sister and Rocky.  She's such a cutie!
On my way home from visiting my family, I finally did something I've wanted to do for a year.  I stopped along the way and took pictures of the beautiful scenery!  I've driven by this lake countless times and now I can share the beauty with you.

I just love the fall!  The leaves could stay these colors all year round and I'd be perfectly happy.

Thanks Jenny!

Elizabeth,
I agree, I was so proud of her for doing that. And now that I've met Minnie, I want to keep her myself. She's such a sweetie.

Your sister is wonderful for rescuing this beauty! I don't understand how a kid all of a sudden becomes allergic to dogs. The dog is 12 years old so they probably didn't want to deal with the potential health problems coming up. I volunteer for a rescue and this happens all the time. It is either somebody became allergic, or they have a new baby, or they are moving to the land of no pets!

STL,
Well I have heard of people developing allergies, especially kids. But I agree, they were probably just looking for an excuse. I can't even imagine giving up my pets for any reason. They're part of the family.
