ShopRite
  • 8 boxes Ronzoni Garden Delight pasta $1.99 each, used eight freebie coupons (10/18 SS - valid up to $1.89) = $0.10 each (DBF bought four and I bought four)
  • Got $0.10 bag discount, total was $0.70

Walgreens - ordered 15 more Gillette coupons off ebay and my good friend dancinmama sent me three more as well. We used up half today, so its my mission for the week to use up the rest. I rolled my $6 Gillette RR's today, but just be aware that you can't normally do this. For some reason, there's a glitch in the system on this deal that's allowing this to work.

  • Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System $8.99, used $4 coupon (9/27 P&G) and got back $6 RR = $1.01 profit
  • 2 Reese's pumpkins $0.67 each with in-circular coupon
  • Used $6 RR, total was $1.06 (DBF repeated)

Then I bought:

  • Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System $8.99, used $4 coupon (9/27 P&G) and got back $6 RR = $1.01 profit
  • 2 Reese's pumpkins $0.67 each with in-circular coupon
  • 2 Tostitos $3 each, got back $2 RR (WYB 2) = $2 each
  • Used $3 RR, $3 RR and $6 RR, total was $1.06

At another store

  • Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System $8.99, used $4 coupon (9/27 P&G) and got back $6 RR = $1.01 profit
  • Chocolate chip cookie $1.19
  • Half gallon milk $1.79
  • Used $1 RR and $6 RR, total was $1.60 (DBF repeated minus the milk)

Another store

  • Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System $9.49*, used $4 coupon (9/27 P&G) and got back $6 RR = $0.51 profit
  • Walgreens spices $1.19
  • Used $6 RR, total was $1.35

*For some reason, the razor rang up as $9.49 at this store. DBF bought this one and I caught the price difference when I went to check out. I have no idea why it was more expensive. Since its a monthly deal and not in the circular anymore, the cashier didn't believe me that the price was wrong. I checked the aisle and of course it wasn't labeled, so we just bought the one razor at this store and left.

  • Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System $9.49, used $4 coupon (9/27 P&G) and got back $6 RR = $1.01 profit
  • Walgreens chocolate chip brownie $1.29
  • Used $6 RR, total was $0.91 (DBF repeated)

Then I bought

  • Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System $9.49, used $4 coupon (9/27 P&G) and got back $6 RR = $1.01 profit
  • Tostitos and Doritos $3 each, got back $2 RR (WYB 2) = $2 each
  • Walgreens chocolate chip brownie $1.29
  • Used $3 RR, $3 RR and $6 RR, total was $0.91
Its that time again - time to subject DBF to my cooking! My mom and I were watching a mac 'n cheese cook-off on the Food Network a couple weeks ago, and ever since then, I've had such a hankering for it. I was going to make it last weekend, but I was out of flour. I got some this week so we're ready to go. Here's what you need: pasta, American cheese, salt, flour, milk and butta.
Please note these are a must - you simply must use cavatappi. Any old pasta will just not do. Cavatappi has the perfect squiggles and twists to absorb the maximum amount of cheese. And speaking of cheese, I always use american. No cheddar for this gal. Trust me on this one.
Melt up 6 tablespoons of butter and then throw in one teaspoon of salt and 4 tablespoons flour. Be sure to mix that flour up good otherwise it's gonna taste weird.
(I am demonstrating the crucial mixing process for you)
See? Mixed. Ok, let's proceed....
You're gonna need 4 cups of cheese. You could cut it up if you want, but I usually just tear mine into small pieces.
The smaller the better so they'll melt faster.
Yummy, yummy pasta! You want to cook the pasta so its just underdone. Its going to bake in a delicous creamy, cheesy sauce for a while, so it'll finish cooking then.
Start dumping in your cheese into your butter and flour.
Stir....
Stir...
Stir some more until it gets nice and thick. This process usually takes way too long for me. You'll hear a lot of impatient sighs from the kitchen during this time.
Dump the cheesy goodness onto your noodles. Make sure they're all covered otherwise you're gonna have crunchy noodles. Nobody likes a crunchy noodle. I always put the pan on a cookie sheet. I learned this tip from watching Giada and its saved me from some oven scrubbing many a time. Sometimes if you over-fill the pan, it will bubble over in your oven. The cookie sheet saves you from cleaning up a mega-mess.Bake at 350 degrees for 35-50 minutes. You have to let it set up a bit before eating (more impatient sighs at this point).
But its oh so worth the wait. Yuuuuuummmmmmm!

I haven't found the garden delight at my stores yet, but i'm glad to see you did! That means my store might be following suit this week.

Angie,
Some coupons are regional, so not everyone gets the same thing.

Precious,
Thanks!

Yum!

How do you get it brown and crispy on top? Mine never does that (unless I put into the broiler which is v. hard with my oven - I have to lie flat on my stomach to angle it in and I always burn myself)

That looks very yummy! You can cook! And it's everybody's favorite as well!

SugarMag,
I cooked mine on the middle rack of the oven. My oven is very weird though and cooks unevenly, so who knows. You could always cook it for the majority of the time and throw on the broiler at the end.

central,
Thanks! :)
