Please note if you will, the vanilla scented handle

Just the other day, I was shaving my legs and I thought to myself, "Self, wouldn't this shaving experience be greatly improved with the addition of a scented handle?" VOILA! Walgreens delivers!

I can't remember the last time I got a good women's razor for free, so when I saw that these razors were free after RR, I did some planning to get some with the least amount of fuss. Rolling Walgreens' RR's can be such a hassle and I'm just not up for all that legwork (ha! legwork!) anymore. RiteAid has spoiled me! Here's what I came up with:
  • Women's 6 Blade Razor System $3.99, got back $4 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • Just paid cash for this one to get started - $4.27 with tax
Then I bought:
  • Hyland's Teething Gel $5, used $1 coupon and got back $5 RR = $1 profit
  • Index Cards $0.39 - the circular coupon didn't scan on these. The manager did a price adjustment for me
  • Used $4 RR from razor, total was $0.42
Then I rolled that back into another razor:
  • Women's 6 Blade Razor System $3.99, get back $4 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • 3 Geisha mushrooms $0.50 each with in-circular coupon
  • Used $5 RR, total was $0.77
Then finally -
  • Hyland's Teething Gel $5, used $1 coupon and got back $5 RR = $1 profit
  • Geisha mushrooms $0.50 with in-circular coupon
  • Used $4 RR, total was $0.50
So in total, I spent $0.96 for two razors, four cans of mushrooms, some index cards and some teething gel that I'll donate. Not bad!

CVS
  • 3 John Frieda Full Repair Stylers $7.39 each, used three $5 coupons (6/5 SS) and got back $10 EB (WYB $20 worth, Limit 1, monthly deal) = $2.83 profit
  • Balance Bar (1.76 oz) $1.69, got back $1.69 EB (Limit 1) = FREE
  • Complete Multi-Purpose Solution (12 oz) $7.99, got back $7.99 EB (Limit 1) = FREE
  • Used $3 EB, $5 EB and $5.99 EB, total was $4.64

FrugalSuz,

You crack me up! That was an awesome post.

Can you believe my Wags did NOT have any of the FARR razors in? So, alas, I will be stuck with my non-vanilla scented handles.

The good news is that I will not eat my razors!

Thanks Leanna! I've been fighting the urge all evening to crack open one of those bad boys and chow down. haha!

One store was totally out of the razors in the shaving aisle, but had a ton on an endcap. It sometimes pays to hunt around the store a bit.

How do you figure 96 cents for Walgreens? Even if you subtract the last RR from your total, wouldn't it be $1.96?

I got burned out on rolling RRs a couple weeks ago and spent mine all on clearance tuna (50 cents a can). They'll have to lure me in with a really good deal. Free razors are pretty good, but I still have nice Noxema razors from the deal they did a couple months ago.

We don't have Rite Aid here, but CVS is better than Wags since it does rainchecks and doesn't treat EBs as coupons - plus there's the 2% back on all purchases (they count your total b4 coupons!) and the Beauty Club. So that's my couponing mainstay now.

K,
First I added up the total for each transaction: $4.27 + $4.42 + $5.77 + $4.50 = $18.96. Then I subtract the RR's that I earned from this cost ($18 worth) and that's where I got the $0.96. CVS used to be my favorite too, but the deals have been "eh" for me lately so I'm mainly there just to roll my EB's. I probably would have passed on this deal if they were any old razors, but I'm pretty sure these are Walgreen's version of the Gillette Venus razors and those are pretty much the only ones I use.

Nice job on the razor deal. I so wish they would have a deal on the Intuituon Razors. They are my very favorite.
