Tweeze Away

Rite Aid - did this on my card
  • Breathe Right Strips $4.79 ($5.99 reg price, 20% discount), used FREE coupon = $1.20 profit *Scans automatically for $5.99
  • 2 Revlon Tweezers $1.49 each ($2.49 reg price), got back $4 UP (WYB 2, Limit 4 offers) = $1.02 profit
  • Revlon Foundation $9.99, used $2 coupon (4/10 SS), got back $5 UP and will get back $2 (SCR #37 - regular retail must be $9.99+ to qualify) = $0.99
  • Used $3/$15 survey coupon, $1 non-prescription purchase RA coupon (May Video Values) and $4 UP, total was $2.40
Then at a different store and on DBF's card, I got
  • Breathe Right Strips $4.79 ($5.99 reg price, 20% discount), used FREE coupon = $1.20 profit *Scans automatically for $5.99
  • 2 Revlon Tweezers $1.49 each ($2.49 reg price), got back $4 UP (WYB 2, Limit 4 offers) = $1.02 profit
  • No Nonsense liners $0.75, used $1 RA coupon (April Video Values) = $0.25 profit
  • Revlon Foundation $9.59 ($11.99 reg price, 20% discount), used $2 coupon (4/10 SS), got back $5 UP and will get back $2 (SCR #37 - regular retail must be $9.99+ to qualify) = $0.59
  • Milk $2.39
  • Used $3/$15 survey coupon and $8 in UP's, total was $1.25
This was the only store I've been to all week that had any Revlon foundation items for $11.99. This works out to be a slightly better deal if you have the 20% discount. Loving all these free tweezers! For some reason, tweezers disappear on me. Maybe they disappear into the dryer with the kidnapped socks?

Finishing out the Revlon Deal

Rite Aid - bought these items on my newest card. I haven't earned a Wellness discount yet on this card.
  • 5 Revlon Emery Boards $0.75 each ($1.25 reg price, 40% off) and Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer $2.09 ($3.49 reg price, 40% off) and got back three $4 UP's (WYB 2) and will get back $2 (SCR #34) = $8.16 profit
  • 3 Profoot Foot Care $5 each, used three $1.50 coupons (found inside package), got back $2 UP (WYB 3, Limit 4 offers) and will get back $10 (WYB 3, SCR #2) = $1.50 profit
  • No Nonsense liners $0.75, used $1 RA coupon (April Video Values) = $0.25 profit
  • Sun Chips $0.99, used $1 RA coupon (April Video Values) = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • Breathe Right Strips $5.99, used FREE coupon = FREE *Scans automatically for $5.99
  • Used $3/$15 coupon and $13 in UP's, total was $0.45, overall profit $12.55
There were $1.50 Profoot coupons inside these packages. You can see them by looking right behind the insole. I asked the cashier if it would be ok for me to open the package to use the coupon. He didn't have a problem with it, as long as I opened them myself.

Then at another store, I finished out the Revlon deal on this card -
  • 2 Revlon Tweezers $1.49 each ($2.49 reg price), got back $4 UP (WYB 2, Limit 4 offers) = $1.02 profit
  • Breathe Right Strips $5.99, used FREE coupon = FREE
  • Revlon Foundation $9.99, used $2 coupon (4/10 SS), got back $5 UP and will get back $2 (SCR #37 - regular retail must be $9.99+ to qualify) = $0.99
  • Used $3/$15 survey coupon and $7 in UP's, total was $1.74, overall profit $2.26
Had one of my least favorite cashiers today at RA. Every time I've seen this woman, she's been rude. Rude to me, rude to other customers, rude to the world. I try to keep my transactions short and sweet at this store anyway, just because I've had a ton of problems there. She scanned my items, scanned the $3/$15 and then saw the free Breathe Right coupon. Rather than trying to scan it or look up the price of the item, she told me she'd have to void the whole transaction and start over. (sigh) She did so, scanned the Breathe Right strips, noted the $5.99 price and then scanned the free coupon - which scans and takes off $5.99 automatically. Much ado about nothing!

The Breathe Right strips count towards the allergy UP deal - $5 UP WYB $25 (Limit 1, valid until 5/26). These are going to be giving back $1 UP next week, so be sure to save some coupons for that. I'm going to buy them this week as needed for fillers to get to $15.

Rolling UP's into SCR's

UPDATE - also cleared for SCR #54 - $1 WYB M&M's. That was a nice surprise!

Rite Aid
  • 3 Revlon Emery Boards $0.75 each ($1.25 reg price, 40% off) and Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer $2.09 ($3.49 reg price, 40% off) and got back two $4 UP's (WYB 2) and will get back $2 (SCR #34) = $5.66 profit
  • 2 M&M's $2.50 each, used $1 off 2 RA coupon (May Video Values), $1 off 2 tearpad coupon and got back $1 UP (WYB 2) = $2 or $1 each
  • 3 Profoot Foot Care $5 each, used two $1 coupons (wasn't able to print a third), got back $2 UP (WYB 3, Limit 4 offers) and will get back $10 (WYB 3, SCR #2) = $1
  • Used $3/$15 survey coupon, $1 non-prescription purchase coupon (May VV), $10 UP, $5 UP and $1 UP, total was $0.53, overall profit $6.47
At another store, I did pretty much the same thing. The prices are higher at this store (than any other in my area), but they're very coupon-friendly and have a lot of stock so I don't mind so much.
  • 3 Revlon Emery Boards $1.01 each ($1.69 reg price, 40% off) and Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer $2.09 ($3.49 reg price, 40% off) and got back two $4 UP's (WYB 2) and will get back $2 (SCR #34) = $4.88 profit
  • 3 Profoot Foot Care $5 each, used $2 peelie and $1 peelie, got back $2 UP (WYB 3, Limit 4 offers) and will get back $10 (WYB 3, SCR #2) = FREE *Very happy to find these peelies!
  • Used $3/$15 survey coupon, $10 UP and four $1 UP's, total was $0.43, overall profit $7.57
Target
  • 2 Freschetta Pizza by the Slice $1.99 each, will submit for TMF rebate (form found inside box, limit 2) = FREE
  • Sun Chips $3 - this flavor is yummy!
  • Total was $6.98
Finally found the Freschetta! I've been looking in supermarkets for these and finally found them at Target.

Triples at Pathmark!

So excited about this sale! Pathmark is tripling coupons up to and including $1! The sale is valid today, Saturday and Sunday only. They'll triple four of the same coupon, up to 10 coupons total per order. I bought all these goodies across three stores to comply with the 10 coupon limit. Here's what I got:
  • Kraft or Cracker Barrel sliced cheese $2.99 each, used $1 coupon (4/17 SS) = FREE *Also found $1 blinkie coupons in the store
  • Edy's Slow Churned Shakes/Smoothies $1.79 each, bought two and used $1 off 2 coupon (4/17 RP) = $0.58 or $0.29 each
  • Oreo Fudge Creme Cookies $3.69, used $1 coupon (4/17 SS) = $0.69 each
  • Welch's Healthy Start Juice $3.89, used $1 coupon (2/27 SS) = $0.89 each
  • Cracker Barrel Cracker Cuts $3.99, used $1 coupon (4/17 SS) = $0.99 each
  • Act Mouthwash $4.69 each, used $1 coupon (4/17 SS) = $1.69 each
I'm going to go through my coupons and see if I can rustle up some more deals. I love Cracker Barrel so this was a fabulous day for me! I also love Act mouthwash and in all the time I've been couponing, I've only ever gotten it for free once, and that was super tiny bottles at CVS. So I don't mind paying a bit for these. They taste great and my dentist highly recommends them. I'd been using them for years but once I started couponing, I cut back because they're expensive.

Spot any great deals I missed?

The Feline Olympics

Welcome to another round of The Feline Olympics. Gigi has been putting in some quality practice time and can't wait to show off her moves. Let's begin, shall we? Ahh, let's begin with a classic stalking pose. Notice the feline has cleverly camouflaged herself behind a fluorescent pink feathery toy. Subtle.
Before any strenuous play session begins, its important to stretch. Especially your toes.
We start off our session today with a light swat of a round, crinkly mouse head toy. Notice the fine form as Gigi extends her arm. Lovely.
For round two, we have progressed to a feather toy, complete with mouse ears. Gigi carefully inspects the toy to check for quality components.
Satisfied that her toy is up to snuff, she begins the "roll and lick phase." Beautifully executed.
Oh very interesting. We have a new contender here ladies and gentlemen. A rare ribbon and bells toy. Those aren't often seen in this arena.
Wonderful lift Gigi. That should be sure to fetch a high score from the judges.
In an unexpected and bold move, Gigi has gone back to the feather toy! Simply spectacular folks, you just never know what this little girl will do next.
Oh dear, we must have upset her concentration. Do quiet down ladies and gentlemen, focus is crucial for these last rounds.
She's back in the game now! That feather doesn't stand a chance.
And for the finale, a dramatic mouse toy dribble! Who could have seen that coming?!? Let's give her a hand folks! Well done Gigi, well done.

Back to Business

Thank you all for your kind words about Mousse. Your support and kindness means so much to me. I'm happy to report that Gigi has been doing wonderfully. I cannot even tell you how much calmer and snugglier she's been lately. She seems to relaxed and doesn't have to look over her shoulder all the time.

My vet even sent me a handwritten card expressing how sorry he was that this had to happen. He said that based on what I'd told him about Mousse's behavior, putting him down was the best decision I could have made. I am blown away by his thoughtfulness.
CVS - got all my shopping done for the week on my lunch break at three different stores. Gotta love NJ where there are stores everywhere you look. My old card:
  • Blink Tears or Gel Tears $7.99, used $4 peelie coupon and got back $7.99 EB (Limit 1) = $4 profit
  • Used $1.98 EB and $1.99 EB, total was $0.02
Then on my new card -
  • Blink Tears or Gel Tears $7.99, used $4 peelie coupon and got back $7.99 EB (Limit 1) = $4 profit
  • Allegra (5 ct) $6.99, used $5 coupon (4/17 SS) and got back $7 EB (raincheck from a couple weeks ago) = $5 profit
  • 2 Arm & Hammer Total 2-in-1 Dryer Sheets $4.89 each, BOGO sale, used $3 off 2 coupon (4/10 SS) = $1.89 or $0.94 each
  • Used $7 EB, total was $1.21
Then on DBF's card -
  • Blink Tears or Gel Tears $7.99, used $4 peelie coupon and got back $7.99 EB (Limit 1) = $4 profit
  • 4 Arm & Hammer Total 2-in-1 Dryer Sheets $4.69 each, BOGO sale, used $3 off 2 coupon (4/10 SS) = $3.38 or $0.84 each
  • Used $7 EB, total was $1.45
Happy coincidence - got back $1 EB for using my green bag tag on all three cards. :)

Rite Aid
  • 3 Veet Wax Strips $3.59 each ($4.49 reg price), used two $2 coupons (ask me why I didn't use three, I won't be able to answer your question! or here or here - unlimited prints!), three $3 circular coupons (have to have one of these per item), $1 RA coupon (April Video Values), $2/$10 beauty purchase RA coupon (April Video Values) and got back three $1 UP's (Limit 6) = $8.23 profit

Then at a separate store and on DBF's card, I bought:

  • Used $3/$15 survey coupon, total was $6.83, overall profit $4.05
This transaction was so weird. My wellness discount didn't take off and no UP's printed. Luckily I noticed this right away and the manager returned and re-rung the UP items and ones I should have received a discount on. I didn't bother with the pretzels, but technically, I should have received the 20% discount on these too. Looking at the receipts, the problematic one is on the right and says "Rite Aid Card Savings" on top versus what its supposed to say (left) "Wellness + Savings." WEIRD! I've read about this happening to other people on Slick Deals but its the first time its happened to me. I paid with a $10 UP, which beeped so the cashier scanned my Wellness card again. That's the only thing I can think of that was strange about the transaction - maybe scanning it twice voided it out? But both receipts list the correct number of Wellness points that I've accumulated for the year. I have no idea!

Moral of the story - always check your receipts carefully and before you leave the store.
