March Madness

March Monthly Totals
  • Merchandise Total (before coupons): $2,188.14
  • Value of Coupons & Store Sales: $1,162.39
  • Rewards/Gift Cards/ECB's Used: $762.82
  • Rewards/Gift Cards/ECB's Earned: $523.70
  • Rebates: $236.79
  • Total Cost to me (after rewards earned and rebates): $336.86
  • Total Profit: $70.07
  • # of Items: 652, # of Free Items: 423

I really am not quite sure how I spent $300 this month! Some months are more stock-up months where you buy things that are on a great sale, rather than free. I guess that's what happened here...I'm not quite sure! lol

Savings Updates

I tell ya, this month was crazy! I sold oodles of stuff online and was so busy packing stuff up and shipping it, I really didn't pay that much attention to my finances this month.
  • I redeemed $40 worth of rewards earned by using my Discover card for a $45 CVS gift card. This will last a long time and ensures I don't have to spend cash at CVS. I get 5% back on gas and automotive purchases (can we say $600 car repairs??) and 2% on everything else.
  • Used two $15 gift cards from an Olay rebate to purchase a $30 Walgreens gift card.
  • Received a $50 gift card for buying my new Verizon phone. I thought the rebate was going to be cash, but this is ok too. I used $25 on a CVS gift card and the other $25 on a Walgreens gift card.

Deposits to Emergency Fund - goal $10,000

  • $10 bonus for referring friend to ING - thanks again! :)
  • State tax refund of $183
  • $13.52 - difference between budgeted and actual electric bill
  • Rebates - $6 Nasogel DBF's name, $6.99 Ensure, $6.99 Ensure DBF's address, $29.95 reimbursement for RX, $4.50 Windex, $2.50 Windex DBF's address, $2.50 Windex parent's address, $7.99 escencia, $7.99 escencia parents' address, $7.99 escencia DBF's address, $3.99 Hillshire Farms turkey, $3.99 Hillshire Farms DBF's address, $6.99 Ensure parent's address, $3.29 Pert Plus for Men
  • eBay Earnings - $517.05 - holy smokes! A good deal of this money went towards shipping costs - $239.70 (and I charged all of that to my Discover card to get more rewards!). $13.45 went towards a stamps.com scale I purchased and $13 went towards an order of checks. $197.71 of it went to a whole bunch of clothes I bought - at least I didn't have to dip into my savings to pay for these! I got a bunch of great deals - a couple of clearanced t-shirts for $4.99 each, two pairs of jeans for around $20 each, some great new work pants and a bunch of t-shirts. I've never been good at buying clothes slowly. I tend to not buy clothes for ages and then get urges to shop like crazy. So this was my spring splurge. :) That leaves around $100 leftover money from my profits, and to be honest, I don't know where it went! lol I probably spent a little going out to dinner, a little on odds and ends, etc. I'm going to do better in April, I promise!

Debt Progress

  • I paid off my car! My March payment was $265.69, and I made an extra payment of $527.88 to pay it off entirely. I had been listed under my parents' insurance but due to the whole AIG mess, they are going to be changing companies. The financing on the car was in my name and my dad's, so I wasn't sure if getting insurance in my own name would be difficult because of that. I figured it would be easiest all around if the car was just in my name. I have the title and I have to look into different insurance companies.

I'm going to put April and May's car payments into my emergency fund to replace the money I took out for this payment. And then after that, the entire payment will be going into a savings fund designed to purchase my next car...when my Honda dies years from now.

Balances as of Today

  • Short Term Savings $1,000.68
  • Emergency Fund $1,201.38
  • Credit Cards - ZERO!
  • Car Loan - PAID OFF!
  • Student Loans - ugh, and I was on such a roll! $79,255

Since I plan on buying lots and lots of shaving cream this month, let's keep track shall we? Just for shits 'n giggles (where on earth does that expression come from anyway??). Skintimate - 3 Edge - 6

Hall of Fame Day

Song of the day - War - Lowrider
Today was definitely one of my best hounding days ever! This is my front tire...

And this is my rear tire. Notice how its ridin' a little low? Wanna know why??? :)

Cause I've got junk in my trunk! hahahahahahaha

Look at all that loot! Ok, let's see what I've got here. This deal was sooo much fun and a huge thank you to Precious for posting it! She was the first to post on a fab paper deal at Walgreens ages ago and the first to post on this one too. Precious, you are the paper houndin' queen!
Staples
  • 15 reams of Staples printing paper (item #554638) $6.99 each (clearance price), will get back $5.99 rebate on each one = $1 each
  • It gets even better! I used my Staples rewards card (free to sign up) and I should get back a 10% reward for spending $100 on paper before 3/31 (so hurry if you want to do this deal too) = $10.40 reward
  • Total was $112.19 but after the rewards and rebates, I'll have only spent $11.94 / $0.80 a package

If you've never done Staples rebates before, they are super easy. You'll get a rebate receipt that prints right after your regular receipt. You can either fill it out and mail it off (address on the receipt) or submit all of your info electronically here. Easy as pie.

dancinmama called Staples and confirmed the limits on this deal. The limit is 100 packages of paper! So go hog wild if you want to! :) She also found out that the $10 Staples bonus will come as a Staples gift card, not cash. Thanks for the info!

Here's a close up of the package so you can make sure you get the right one. As far as I know, this is only one clearanced and the cheapest way to do this deal.

Target - can buy any kinds of Pepsi for this deal

  • 5 cases Diet Pepsi $3 each, used five $2 coupons (Pepsi/Frito rebate) = $5
  • Diet Cherry Pepsi $3, used B2GO free coupon (printable, no longer available) = FREE

  • Total was $5.91 = 6 cases for FREE!, paid with $5 Target gift card (from last week's Quaker deal) and $0.91 cash

Second transaction

  • Diet Cherry Pepsi $3, used B2GO free coupon (printable, no longer available) = FREE

  • Got back $5 Target gift card for buying 5 cases Pepsi = FREE!
  • 3 bags Baked Lays chips $3.33 each, used three $1 coupons (March All You magazine or 3/8 RP - these expire 3/31 and I wanted to use them up) = $2.33 each
  • Plastic container $4.99
  • Total was $17.17, paid with $5 gift card from transaction one and $12.17 in cash

Third transaction

  • 5 cases Diet Pepsi $3 each, used five $2 coupons (Pepsi/Frito rebate) = $5

  • Got back $5 Target gift card for buying 5 cases Pepsi
  • Total was $5.91, paid with $5 gift card from transaction two and $0.91 cash

All in all, that amounts to 18 cases of Pepsi for a smidge under $3!!!

And now for the rest of the day's shopping. Not quite as exciting, but still an awesome day:

CVS
  • 7 papers $2 each
  • Used $4 EB and $5 EB, total was $5
Walgreens - through trial and error, DBF and I learned a couple things today. You cannot buy the Edge and Skintimate together and get RR's for both. They are part of the same promotion. The good thing is that both are month long deals and aren't in the circular...so most folks probably don't know about them. Hopefully it will be easy to find them all month and they'll stay in stock.
  • 2 Glade Fragrance Collection Soy Candles $5.99 each, used two $4 coupons (printable no longer available) and $2 WAG coupon (in April Easy Saver booklet, scans twice automatically) = FREE/$0.02 profit
  • Chapstick 100% Naturals or True Shimmer Lip Balm or Butter (0.15 oz) $1.99, got back $2 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • Edge shaving gel $2.99, got back $3 RR (month long deal) = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • One-A-Day Multivitamin Drink Mix $1.49, used $1 coupon (1/4 SS **coupon expires 3/31) and will get back $1.64 ($1.49 + 10%, ESR #1) = $1.15 profit
  • Wal-itin (WAG brand of Claritin) $6.99, will get back $7.69 ($6.99 + 10%, ESR #10) = $0.70 profit
  • Used $6 RR, $6 RR, $1 RR, total was $3.83

Had bought a Skintimate here. RR's didn't print, so I returned and rebought it alone:

  • Skintimate Shaving Gel $2.99, get back $3 RR (month long deal) = FREE/$0.01 profit

DBF bought

  • Edge shaving gel $2.99, got back $3 RR (month long deal) = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • Chapstick 100% Naturals or True Shimmer Lip Balm or Butter (0.15 oz) $1.99, got back $2 RR = FREE/$0.01 profit

  • Glade Fragrance Collection Soy Candle $5.99, used $4 coupon (printable no longer available) and $2 WAG coupon (in April Easy Saver booklet) = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • Used $1 RR, $1 RR and $1 RR, total was $6.43

Had also bought a Skintimate here. RR's didn't print, so DBF returned and rebought it alone:

  • Skintimate Shaving Gel $2.99, get back $3 RR (month long deal) = FREE/$0.01 profit

Second store:

  • Edge shaving gel $2.99, got back $3 RR (month long deal) = FREE/$0.01 profit

  • Glade Fragrance Collection Soy Candle $5.99, used $4 coupon (printable no longer available), had a $4 RR raincheck to use, manager adjusted the price for the candle down to $1.99 instead of taking $4 off the top of the order, so I didn't use the $2 WAG coupon on this candle
  • Used $1 RR, total was $5.23

DBF bought

  • Edge shaving gel $2.99, got back $3 RR (month long deal) = FREE/$0.01 profit

Keep your Fingers Crossed for Me

Kmart - wanted to get some of the free St. Ives that I saw on Queen's blog
  • 7 St. Ives Elements cleansers/scrubs $3.49 each (marked $6.99 but are actually on sale), used seven $2 coupons (doubled to $3.49 each, 3/8 SS) = FREE

  • 2 Pillows - $7.99 each, really needed these too, mine are super old

  • Diet Coke for DBF $1.49
  • Total was $51.20

I needed some new pillows and I picked up one thinking it would be good to have an extra item in case the St. Ives coupons gave overage. Then I started thinking, well, I really need two pillows so maybe I'll get another one and some other stuff to try for the rebate below. I haven't had the best of luck with Glamour rebates in the past, but even if it doesn't come, the laundry basket, pillows and litter are all things I need anyway. Fingers crossed!

From Queen's blog:

We went to the vet to pick up some more food for Mr. Mousse and they had stapled forms to the bags. They explained to me that there was a $5 rebate available until 3/31 for these - sounds good to me! My boyfriend was shocked that I hadn't posted anything new since Wednesday, so this one's for you darlin'! :)
I just posted on the WIR Message Boards the other day that I haven't been able to find the Sure Max deodorant anywhere, and then today, it suddenly appeared in all of my supermarkets. They must have stocked them just this morning cause I've been looking for this for months!! There's absolutely no way I missed them. Nope, no way, no how. ;)

Walgreens April Easy Saver Rebates (3/29 - 4/25) - 10% bonus on each item when you get your rebate back on a gift card.

  • One-A-Day Multivitamin Drink Mix $1.49, use $1 coupon (3/22 SS) and get back $1.49 (ESR #1) = $1 profit
  • Physicians Formula Organic Wear makeup (look for TMF stickers), use $1 coupon (2/22 SS) and get back $10 (WYB $10 worth, ESR #6) = FREE or profit
  • Buy $20 of any Garnier products, get $10 rebate (ESR #3) - I'll definitely be buying some Garnier face lotions with this rebate. The items will probably go on sale during the month, so I'd wait and see how cheap they go for.

The First Time I've Bought Hand Soap in Ages

CVS - this deal is in next week's circular, but I read on HCW that the EB's are printing now.
  • Softsoap Ensembles hand soap pump $7.99, used $2 coupon (3/22 SS) and $2 CVS coupon from Reinventing Beauty magazine
  • Softsoap Ensembles hand soap refill $3.99
  • Got back $4 EB for buying two (Limit 3 - six items total) and will submit for $4 rebate WYB pump and refill = FREE
  • Used $5 EB, total was $2.98

I had tried to use the $1 coupon for the refill (3/22 SS) as well but it beeped. I'm not really sure why! Both $2 coupons that I used were for the pump, not the refill, so I have no idea why the refill coupon didn't work.

UPDATE - I figured it out! The UPC codes for the refill and the pump both start with the same 5-6 numbers. When the cashier scans a coupon, the register looks to match the first set of numbers on the coupon with the first set of numbers on the item. Since both items had the same code, it applied the first $2 coupon to the pump and the second $2 coupon to the refill.

I found the rebate form in A&P a couple weeks ago and other folks on HCW have reported they've found them in supermarkets. The rebate is good until 12/31/09, so you could buy the pump and refill now and save the UPC's and receipt until you actually find the form.

I also had read on iheartcvs that in some areas, the limit on the Crest Pro Health Enamel toothpaste had gone up to two. I bought the toothpaste in addition to this stuff but I did not receive an EB for it, so I'm going to return it.

Just Can't Get Enough Walgreens

TOTAL FEBRUARY PROFIT $57.12
Rite Aid
  • Pert Plus for Men $4.19, used $1 coupon (1/25 SS) and will submit for Try Me Free rebate (must have sticker on bottle) = $1 profit
  • Suave body wash $2.49, used freebie coupon (from past offer, no longer available) - register took off $3 automatically (no beeps, cashier didn't even have to enter price of item) = $0.51 profit
  • Total was $3.15, paid with gift card from past rebate

Stop & Shop

  • S&S kaiser rolls clearanced to $1.25
  • 4 Shedd's Country Crock with calcium $1.99 each, used four $0.50 coupons (doubled to $1, 1/18 RP) = $3.98 or $0.99 each
  • Total was $5.16

Here's the deal with the Con Agra/Hunts Walgreens rebate. Each can normally runs for $0.99. They are on a Mega Saver sale price all month of $4 for 5 cans. But...if you buy four cans or less at a time, you'll pay $0.99 each and won't trigger the Mega Saver discount. The limit on the circular coupon is three, but its up to the cashier to enforce this limit. The registers will automatically take off the discount no matter how many you buy.

The rebate says spend $10, get back $5. The nice thing is that the $0.99 regular price is what counts towards your $10 total. So...if you buy four cans or less at a time and rinse and repeat until you have 11 cans total, your regular price total will be $10.89 so you'll qualify for the $5 rebate. And the great thing about this week is that they are on sale for $0.39 each with the in-circular coupon. So in actuality, you'll pay only $4.29 total for all 11 cans ($0.39 x 11) but still get back $5 as a rebate. Long story short - buy 4 cans or less at a time, rinse and repeat until you have 11 total, submit all your receipts and you'll qualify for the $5 rebate. I hope that helps answer your questions Roberta. :)

Walgreens - this store had tons of the Bic razors on clearance but they would only allow me to buy one razor and one pack of cartridges. Isn't the whole point of clearancing things to get them OUT of the store? Silly rabbits

  • Bic Soleil razor - clearanced to $3.59, used $2 coupon (3/15 SS) and $2 Easy Saver coupon (in WAG monthly booklet) = $0.41 profit

  • 4 cans Hunts tomato sauce $0.99 regular price (if you buy 5+, they'll be cheaper and its not as great a deal), $0.39 with in-circular coupon and will count towards $5 rebate (WYB $10 worth = 11 cans, ESR #29)
  • Walgreens Headache Relief Extra Strength Quickgels (20 pack), will get back $3.28 ($2.99 + 10% bonus, ESR #3) = $0.29 profit

  • Total was $1.33

I've now bought 11 Hunt cans for the rebate in DBF's name and I'll get back $5.50 rebate (spent $4.29 total - $0.39 a can x 11) = $1.21 profit

Silly rabbit store again

  • 4 Scotch bubble mailers $0.99 each
  • Total was $3.74

Oh Jenny, You Tricksy Tricksy Gal!

Bright and early Saturday morning, DBF and I set out for a hike at Jenny Jump State Park. Legend goes, Jenny lived in these woods long ago with her father. She was cornered either by a spurned suitor or a Native American Indian and rather than fight or live in dishonor, she chose to jump off the side of the mountain! Damn girl!
The park was beautiful. We encountered this rock formation about 15 minutes into the hike. We were having a bit of trouble with the trails. We started on the blue trail and then without warning, the trail markers suddenly turned to white markers. And there was no white trail on our map! Hmm, that's odd we thinks. Continue on, we shall...
Isn't this gorgeous?
After an hour or so, we were rewarded with this amazing view. I really like this funky looking tree. One thing I didn't like - darn thorny bushes that kept attacking me. I have two small cuts on the backs of my legs where the thorns actually got me through my pants!
These trees looked so interesting compared to the older, taller trees right behind them.

After a while, we started to get a little tired. And by we, I mean me. It had been just about a year since DBF and I had been hiking. He runs several times every week and I, um...well, I walk in and out of stores. Oh and I have to walk around inside the stores to find my stuff - does that count? ;) After a while, we started to wonder where the darn road that our trail intersected with actually was. According to the map, we should have hit it already. Hmm. The trails kept going from blue to white to blue and the map wasn't a big help. We decided to keep walking in the direction we were going and see what happened. We had seen what looked like a playground down the mountain and were heading in that general direction. So I'm happily plodding along, following in DBF's footsteps and watching where I'm going so I don't step on a rock and twist my ankle or something. I go to put my foot down and guess what I see right in my path???? A PYTHON!!! This thing was at least 10 feet long, hissing and coiled up ready to attack my poor leg! I totally wigged out and scrambled away as fast as my cut up legs could take me. DBF laughed at me and wandered back to see if he could find the offensive creature, but it was long gone. "That's odd honey, pythons don't usually live in the NJ woodlands, are you sure it wasn't just a little garter snake?" "No, I'm positive," I exclaimed. "It was a monster!" (have I mentioned I'm definitely not a snake person?? shuddering)
Finally, DBF tells me he's spotted the road. Good news! The bad news is that we have to scale down a mountain the size of the Grand Canyon to get to it. Uh oh, that's definitely not good. (have I also mentioned I have a fear of heights? I don't especially hiking up things, but I definitely don't like getting back down again) Here's a slightly better shot of our downward descent. I wasn't getting any closer than I had to!
DBF scouted around for a minute and found this "stairway" down to the road. Umm, thanks honey, but I definitely would have preferred a banister! We're now back on stable ground again, phew. But umm, now the question is, where exactly are we?
DBF decided we needed to go right (probably had some fancy name for it, like East or something, it was right to me), so that's where we went. (have I mentioned my sense of direction isn't exactly always on target?) I'd like to take this time to point out DBF's rucksack. My mountain man has a knife, compass, matches and everything else you'd need to live in the woods for a couple days in that thing. And what did I bring with me? Well let's see here. Can't be too prepared - that's my motto! I've got my camera (old one of course, couldn't risk tripping and falling on my beautiful new one), sunglasses (it was pretty sunny afterall) and a newspaper article about the park that I probably should have referred to while we were getting "lost". Oops!

(walking, walking, walking)

We end up walking past The Land of Make Believe which was slightly creepy all empty and alone in its off-season. This was the playground we'd seen from high atop the mountain! We walked all the way back into the town of Hope and retraced our drive into the park. On the way back to where the truck was parked, we got to see a totally different view of the mountain we'd just hiked. Isn't it beautiful?
Along the way, we spotted another unfortunate hiker who'd gotten hopelessly lost and had to rest along the side of the road. To his regret, he did not have a rucksack stocked with supplies and didn't make it.

Poor fella! By now, I'm starting to realize that the drive in that had taken 10 minutes tops, is now taking quite a bit longer on foot. We got to the park around 11:30-12, its now 3:00. I'm totally sweaty and sticky and the muscles on the tops of my legs that connect your thighs and hips are screaming with every uphill step I take. Luckily for me, the roads leading back to the truck are only 90% hills. There are some plateaus every 15 minutes or so when I can rest. Suffice to say, I was definitely feelin' the burn. At one point, we walked by an alpaca farm. These have to be one of the goofiest animals I've ever seen! I would have taken a picture but they were ALL staring at us and I was a little creeped out. We looked to the left just avoid their stares and a lone cow was standing at the crest of the hill, munchin' away and staring us down. Those darn animals watched our every move from the moment we came into sight to the moment we turned the corner. Creepy!!
After walking mostly uphill for another half hour or so, I was ready to collapse. My wonderful boyfriend deposited me by the side of the road (with the rucksack of course) and RAN up the rest of the mile long hill to the truck (in combat boots nonetheless). By the time I sat my ass down, he was already out of sight. I love that man. I sat there in shock for a while and I can only imagine what passing motorists must have thought of me. I was too tired to even stand up for a couple minutes. Here's a lovely shot of my shoe and water bottle (CVS of course).
I finally gathered my strength back to stand up and look around. Imagine my surprise at discovering this beautiful view right behind me. DBF came to the rescue (with a pickup truck instead of a white horse -- I'll take it!) a minute later and we happily left Jenny Jump park. Jenny, it was nice to meetcha, but I think we may have to take our hiking shoes elsewhere. I hope you understand. :)

Yummy Sunday Mornings

UPDATE - thanks Tanya for the tip. The rebate forms within the Bayer monitors are fine even if they're expired. I just called to confirm and was told to just send in the card in the box, they've extended the rebate.
Walgreens - this store had a TON of the Hunts in stock, and I didn't come close to cleaning them out by buying 11 cans. The cans rang up regular price as 5 for $4 (this is what's called a Mega Saver price, basically a month long Walgreens sale price) not as $0.99 each, so the total was $8.80 before the circular coupon. I'll probably have to buy two more cans to get up to $10 for the rebate. You'd probably be better off only buying a couple at a time and that's what I'm going to do for my second set of rebates in DBF's name. HCW folks are saying you can buy four at a time and still get the $0.99 price. Once you buy the 5th, they'll start going down to the cheaper price.
  • 11 Hunts Tomato Sauce (8 oz) $0.39 each with in-circular coupon, will submit for $5 rebate (WYB $10 worth, ESR #29) = $0.71 profit
  • Total was $4.29, paid with WAG gift card

CVS - got a $5 off $30 coupon from the scanner machine for my card and DBF's card. It was only valid for three days so we quickly came up with some stuff to buy

My Card - this has to be my highest total at CVS, ever!

  • Bayer Breeze 2 Glucose Monitoring System $14.99, submit for $14.99 mail in rebate (in package) = FREE
  • Crest Pro-Health Enamel Care $3.49, used $1 coupon (2/8 P&G) and got back $3.49 EB (Limit 1) = $1 profit
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Foundation $7.99, use $3 coupon (April Glamour magazine) and get back $5 EB (Limit 1) = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • 7 papers $2 each
  • Used $5 off $30 coupon, $2.99 EB, $4 EB, total was $24.48 - used up a gift card and paid $1.60 cash

DBF's Card

  • Bayer Breeze 2 Glucose Monitoring System $14.99, submit for $14.99 mail in rebate (in package) = FREE
  • Crest Pro-Health Enamel Care $3.49, used $1 coupon (2/8 P&G) and got back $3.49 EB (Limit 1) = $1 profit
  • Titan peeler/slicer/grater $14.99
  • Used $5 off $30 coupon, $4 EB, $4.99 EB and $5 EB, total was $13.48

Hmm, opened up both Bayer boxes just now and the rebate forms expired 1/31/09!! There's a note saying if the rebate has expired, call this number, blah blah blah. So I'll call them tomorrow and hopefully they'll send me out a new rebate form. That's kind of a hassle!

Don't these look delicious? There's nothing better on a Sunday morning than fresh bagels. Yum! DBF and I picked up a dozen and used a coupon for three free bagels when you buy nine. These plus DBF's coffee came to $8 and change.

Oh Dear...What an Evening

I got this beauty in the mail today from NeilMed. I really have no idea why. Umm, NeilMed? How's about that rebate check I sent in for? I'd really rather prefer that over a weird little squirt bottle. K?

Do you ever have an interaction with someone and it just totally drains you of all your energy? Sigh. Let me tell you about a lovely gent I've been "ebaying" with. He won an auction for one of my items on 2/23. I sent him an invoice to pay that day. No response. On 2/27, he sends me this lovely email:

"Just awaiting to see if on the last day when i bid if i win these thn I will pay for my item(s) thnks"

Just in case you had any trouble deciphering that lovely bit o' English, he was bidding on another item I had listed and basically was delaying his payment on the first item. He didn't ASK if this was ok, just said he was doing it. Sigh, but whatever. I move on with my life. That auction ends and he does not win. Still no payment from him. I then sent him another invoice on 3/7. He then bids on and wins ANOTHER one of my auctions. I sent him a combined invoice with both items on 3/9. Nothing. (surprise, surprise)

On 3/19, he emails me saying "Where do I sendmoney order please?"

I wrote him back saying that I do not accept money orders as per ebay's policy. I also mentioned it was rude and inconsiderate for him to delay payment this long (original auction ended 2/23, its now 3/19). I was a little ticked and I probably could have worded it better, but I really didn't care at this point.

Are you ready for this? Guess what he wrote back saying??

"I am very sorry but you had told me previously a postal money order would do. That is very rude t take it back especially when I begged for the address. I will get a prepaid ebay card and then you can forget about business with me and hundreds of others a I will spread the word on all my blogs showing them every message I sent you and how you say one thing then another. Payment will be made tomorrow. You are rude telling me to pay postal MO then waiting so long and not providing address. I am deleting your other items I intended on purchasing. After this NO WAY. You are on the DO NOT bother list. Have a great day... And try some medication for that multiple personality disorder."

To be honest, I very well may have told him a money order was ok. This listing was one of the first that I did and I was a little rusty on ebay's policies. I really just don't remember since that would have been almost a month ago! I can't find an email either way. But hmm, I don't recall him "begging" for the address. Its not like he ever responded to any of the previous invoices I'd sent him with a request for my address. He could have reminded me what I'd said about the money orders, hmm...three weeks ago!! And I'm not sure what other items he's going to delete since I don't have anything current up for sale on ebay! Well, I'm off to the doctor now to medicate my multiple personality disorder. Guess I'll see you later folks!

Now I'm worried I'll send out this stuff to him and he'll claim it was damaged during shipping or not as advertised or some nonsense. Should I just cancel the transaction? I gave him that option in my last email to him. Ugh, people sometimes really tick me off.

I Should Know Better...

Last night before I went to bed (tiptoeing of course), I did my dishes, ran through a couple of emails, sorted through my mail, straightened up a bit and put out an item I sold on ebay on my table (first mistake). I didn't want to forget to pack it up and get it ready to ship. I then gave the kitties their nightly snack of a couple cat treats and we plodded off to bed. The next morning, I reluctantly hit snooze for the last time possible without making me late, groaned, yawned and stretched my way out of bed. The kitties did the same, innocently pretending they slept on the bed with me all night. I stumbled out into the living room and looked around while trying to convince my eyes to open all the way.
Something looked out of place and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Suddenly I knew! My ebay item was GONE! AUGH! I have to ship that out, where could it have gone? I looked at the little punks, but of course, mum's the word. Their only concern was how soon breakfast was going to hit their bowls. Sigh. I scanned the room. Nothing. I inquired again with G&M. Nothing but hungry meows. I finally got down on my hands and knees and scoured the room. Aha! It was hidden amidst a bunch of boxes from the Post Office. Maybe they were trying to package it for me. I don't know which one of them did it, but I think it was a long-plotted revenge.
Punks.

Rimmel coupon says "Only at Walmart" but that's apparently Walmart's slogan now, rather than a limit on where you can use the coupon. Folks on HCW have called Rimmel and confirmed the coupon can be used anywhere.

Should have planned this better so it would have been closer to zero, but there were no prices listed on the shelf so I was flying blind.

Lunch break - hit up the Post Office to mail out a bunch of stuff. I walk in and its nice and deserted. Ahh, lovely. I wait for the gentleman ahead of me to buy his stamps, step up to the counter and WHAMMO! 10 people appear out of nowhere and are now waiting behind me in line. Ugh! I shipped about half of my packages and then zipped over to another Post Office close by to send the rest.

I'm an Awful Person

Dear Delightful Downstairs Dweller,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you deeply for alerting me to perils of my loud-livin' ways. You are absolutely right. How dare I think it would be appropriate for me to invite my two sisters over on a Friday night and stay up to the ludicrous hour of 11:30 pm watching a movie? I agree, it was simply rude beyond belief of me to then put away my laundry at midnight. Afterall, its a Friday night! Everyone knows that Friday nights are to be spent in quiet meditation and reflection. And let's not forget about how much noise that darn'd laundry can make! Goodness, you were quite right to complain to me about it. And I cannot believe that I would have the audacity to actually walk around my apartment at that late hour. Afterall, its not like I pay to live there like you do. Thank goodness I didn't have the radio or tv on too!

And thank you for alerting me to your unfortunate work hours that require you to get up at 6 am. Obviously my Friday night antics would greatly disturb your ability to get up that early on Monday morning. And don't worry, it doesn't bother me one bit that I'm awakened early every morning when you open your garage door. I love that noise! From now on, when I arrive home late at night, I will plop myself down on my couch and use my go-go-gadget arms to reach everything in my apartment. Afterall, I'd hate to walk around and disturb your beauty sleep!

Here's an idea - maybe we should see if we could switch apartments that way you'd be on the top floor! Although, since you're obviously such a light sleeper, I would think that would have occured to you before you chose to live in a bottom apartment. Maybe there wasn't an option for a top floor available in any of the 50+ buildings in the complex. That must be it.

And I sincerely appreciate you trying to soften the blow of your complaints with an invitation to your self-described "quiet and tasteful" party. Since I'm in the middle of covering my apartment floors with pillows, I will unfortunately be far too busy to attend.

Mea culpa.

Sincerely,
frugalsuz

DBF and I took Miss Shadow to a dog park today. The weather was great and she had fun running around with the four pit bull puppies that were there. They were all adorable. Woofs to Sky, China, Champ and Mozart!
