D'oh is Me

CVS

• Complete Multipurpose Eye Solution (12 oz) $8.99, used $1 coupon (4/3 SS) and got back $8.99 EB (Limit 1) = $1 profit
• 2 Right Guard Total Defense Body Washes (13.5 oz) $3.88 each, used BOGO coupon (cashier took off $4.49, 3/13 RP), $1 peelie coupon and got back $3 EB (Limit 1) = $0.73 profit
• Crest Pro-Health Complete Rinse (16.9 oz) $3.49, used $1 coupon (4/3 P&G) and got back $2.50 EB (Limit 2) = FREE/$0.01 profit
• 2 Oral-B Manual Toothbrushes $2.99 each, used two $2 coupons (4/3 P&G) and got back $1.98 EB ($0.99 EB each, Limit 2) = FREE/$0.01 profit
• Stamps $8.80
• Used $7 EB and $9.99 EB, total was $8.38

Dummy me, I had a scenario all planned out and ready to go. But for whatever reason, I ignored the part where I also used a $6.99 EB to lower my cost. The line was huge behind me by the time the cashier found the stamps and scanned all my coupons. I figured something must have rung up the wrong price and I'd get an adjustment, so I paid the $8 total. Then I realized what I'd done and walked away with my head held low.

Easy Trips, Big Profits

Rite Aid

• 2 Tena Serenity Ultra Thin Pads $9.99 each, used two $2.50 coupons and will get back $19.98 ($9.99 each, SCR #37, Limit 2) = $5 profit
• 2 Super Poligrips $1.83 each ($1.99 reg price, 20% discount), used two $1 coupons and $1.50 RA coupon (April Video Values) and will get back $3.66 ($1.83 each, SCR #42, Limit 2) = $3.50 profit
• 2 Scunci Elastic Hair Bands (18 ct) $1.99 each, got back two $1.99 UP's (Limit 2) = FREE
• Used $3/$15 survey coupon and two $1 UP's, total was $14.66, overall profit $10.96

Then at another store -

• 2 Tena Serenity Ultra Thin Pads $9.99 each, used two $2.50 coupons and will get back $19.98 ($9.99 each, SCR #37, Limit 2) = $5 profit
• 2 Super Poligrips $1.83 each ($1.99 reg price, 20% discount), used two $1 coupons and $1.50 RA coupon (April Video Values) and will get back $3.66 ($1.83 each, SCR #42, Limit 2) = $3.50 profit
• Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor $8.79 ($10.99 reg price, 20% discount), used $5 coupon (P&G home mailer coupon) and got back $5 UP = $1.21 profit
• Used $3/$15 survey coupon and two $1.99 UP's, total was $12.74, overall profit $11.92

The SCR for Poligrip says "up to $1.99" so I'm assuming I'll only get back $1.83 for each.

March 2011 Savings

March Monthly Totals

• Merchandise Total (before coupons): $1,775.51
• Value of Coupons/Store Sales: $821.68
• Rewards/Gift Cards/EB's Used: $810.42
• Rewards/Gift Cards/EB's Earned: $485.62
• Rebates $149.91
• Cost for the whole month $379.49
• Number of Items 514, Number of Free Items 265

This month's cost was higher than normal because I used up quite a few ShopRite catalinas (almost $400 worth!). I wasn't able to roll all those rewards, so most of them were spent on groceries. Although I used these catalinas instead of cash to pay, they don't reduce the cost of the items.

For Me?

Walgreens

• 2 Nexcare Soft 'n Flex and Waterproof Bandages $3.49 each, used $1 off 2 coupon and will submit for two TMF rebates (valid up to $3.99 for each type, peelie form found on package) = $1 profit
• 7 Snickers Eggs $0.29 each, used two $1 off 2 coupons (3/20 RP) = $0.03
• Used $5 RR, total was $1.89

I actually bought three packages of Nexcare bandages and had planned to use two $5 RR's. But I bought two of the Soft 'n Flex packages instead of buying one of the third kind (Active Waterproof) - duh! So I'll have to return one. Also, my pretax total wasn't $10 so I was only able to use one of the RR's. The Nexcare rebate is valid until 12/31/11 and you can submit for a rebate for each kind of bandage with only one rebate form.

Then at another store, I got:

• 7 Snickers Eggs $0.29 each, used two $1 off 2 coupons (3/20 RP) = $0.03
• JLO Love at First Glow Perfume $16.99 (clearance price)
• Used $5 RR, total was $13.35

I found this JLO perfume clearanced at another store a couple weeks back. My sister uses a different JLO perfume, so I called her to see if she wanted me to buy it for her and she could pay me back. She said sure so I grabbed that puppy up. I had sprayed some from the tester on my wrist and as I drove home, I could not stop myself from smelling it! I was in love and stuck with a dilemma. I'd promised the good smellies to my sister, but I didn't want to hand it over! Maybe she'd hate it and I'd get to keep it? Well this is my life, so of course, she loved it too and made that bottle her own. But fate smiled upon me today when I came across this bottle. Now its all MINE!

Staples

• 2 Duracell CopperTop Alkaline Batteries (20 pk) $12.99 each, used two $1 coupons (P&G home mailer coupon booklet from rebate) and will get back $11.99 in Staples Rewards (Limit 2) = FREE
• Total was $25.80

The circular says "Price eligible for Rewards is the amount paid at checkout after application of all promotions, coupons and Rewards redemptions" so I'm assuming I'll get back the post-coupon price. Free is still good enough for me.

Be on the lookout for these rebates for a FREE John Frieda Full Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer when you also buy a JF Full Repair shampoo or conditioner. They're valid for the price of the Flyaway Tamer (up to $9) and expire on 8/15/11. The form says "mail this original form along with the original dated store cash register receipt..." so I'm assuming you'd have to buy the shampoo/conditioner at the same time as the Flyaway Tamer. I found them at Walmart.
