Migraine Monday

What a headache I've had all day. I was dizzy and nauseous on Saturday and today my head was pounding again. We've had a warm front lately, I bet that is what's affecting me. I'm surprised I was able to get all this shopping done, although my headache didn't really kick in until later in the afternoon. Off to bed for me...
CVS - my card
  • Depends Variety Pack (6 ct) $6.99, used $2 coupon and got back $6.99 EB (Limit 1) = $2 profit
  • J&J Reach Floss (55 yard) $1.99, use $1 coupon (3/7 RP) and get back $2 EB (monthly deal, limit 1) = $1 profit
  • Carefree Pantiliners $3.69, used $4 CRT and got back $2 EB (monthly deal, limit 5) = $2.31 profit
  • The only EB I had on this card was for $10 and I couldn't find anything else I wanted, so I just paid with a gift card. Total was $5.81

DBF's card

  • Carefree Pantiliners $3.69, used $4 CRT and got back $2 EB (monthly deal, limit 5) = $2.31 profit
  • J&J Reach Floss (55 yard) $1.99, use $1 coupon (3/7 RP) and get back $2 EB (monthly deal, limit 1) = $1 profit
  • Total was $0.82

Walgreens

  • 2 Solo Cup Packages $5 each
  • Used $10 RR, total was $0.70

Second Store - such issues here

  • 3 Mead envelopes $0.69 each with in-circular coupon
  • Cotton balls $1.59 (can't wait until I am done cleaning my ears every day!)
  • 3 Swiffer Dusters $4.34 each, was supposed to get back $2 RR for spending $10 but it didn't print. The manager even rung up other items from the promo and couldn't get any RR's to print, so he gave me $2 cash. I bet the machine was down, even though he said it was working. I'll use these for the $10 rebate (WYB $20 worth). Now that I'm looking at the rebate, it specifies only refills, and these are starter kits so I'm not sure they'll work.
  • Used $3 RR, $3 RR and $10 RR, total was $1.96

Here Comes Trouble

See this sleeping cat? From that innocent little face, you'd never suspect the cunning that lies within. I was reading on my balcony Friday afternoon, enjoying the sunshine and beautiful weather. Gigi and Mousse had been out with me for a while, but I let Mousse back inside because he was pawing the door. Then of course, he wasn't happy being inside and was pawing at the door from the inside. A couple of times, he managed to push the door open about six inches or so, and then would jump back in surprise when the door slammed shut. Gigi calmly sat outside with me, watching her brother's antics. We decided to head back inside, so I gathered up the cushions and my book and pulled the handle on the door. Nuthin. Hmm, I thought, he must have gotten it jammed on the top, so I pulled a little harder. Nuthin. Hmm, I thought, he must have really gotten it jammed, so I really yanked it. Nuthin. Hmm, I thought again. That's odd, so I peer around the edges of the door searching for the problem.
This is what I saw. Seriously?!? In the midst of him messing around with the door, he managed to wiggle the hook right into the hole, effectively locking me outside. Once I managed to get my laughing under control, I consulted with Gigi about our dilemma. I'm on the second floor so too high to jump. My boyfriend has a key, but he lives far away and I had put the chain on my front door when I came home, so that was a no-go. Sigh, nothing to do but rip the screen, so I pulled it away from the side, poked my finger inside and freed us. What a little punk! Oh and please disregard the nasty peeling paint and rusty hook. Not the prettiest part of my apartment!
CVS - I'm very excited that CVS is running their egift card promo again. They did this around Christmas time. In a nutshell, you order a $25 egift card and get a $5 bonus. CVS emails you the egift card right away and you can use it in the store just like any other gift card. Love it! I ordered a $100 one, so I'll get a $20 bonus.
