The deals at RA are great this week! I have a bunch more UP's to use so I'll be going back tomorrow for more goodies.
  • Neuragen Gel (0.28 oz) $19.99, used $10 coupon (12/5 RP - expires 1/31) and will get back $19.99 (SCR #19) = $10 profit
  • AMO Complete Multi-Purpose Solution (12 oz) $7.99, used $1 coupon (1/2 SS) and will get back $7.99 (SCR #11) = $1 profit

  • 4 Stayfree Pads $3.99 each, BOGO sale, used two BOGO coupons (1/9 SS) = FREE *Counts towards Buy & Save promo
  • Birthday card $3.19
  • Used $4/$20 and $29 in UP's, total was $0.38, got back $20 UP for Buy & Save promo (UP is valid until 3/27).
I had purchased items towards the Buy & Save promo previously and everything I'd bought was free, so this is a $20 profit! I'm going to use the Lays plus some windshield wiper fluid we bought over the weekend for a $7 Budweiser NBPR rebate (WYB $14+ of various items). Overall profit for this transaction - $42.60!

Then on DBF's card, I bought:
  • Neuragen Gel (0.28 oz) $19.99, used $10 coupon (12/5 RP - expires 1/31) and will get back $19.99 (SCR #19) = $10 profit

I'm at $98.20 towards my $20 UP on this card, so a couple more Stayfree's should do it. This store only had one package of Dixie plates, otherwise I would have bought more Dixie & Lays here. I wish I liked Edy's - what a great sale on ice cream this week!

Profit on Vitamins

Rite Aid - my card. The vitamins on the left are from this transaction:
  • 6 GE Extra Soft White Light Bulbs (4 pk) $1.99 each, got back six $1.99 UP (Limit 6) = FREE
  • 3 Nature Made Fish Oil plus Vitamin D (90 ct) $12.79 (reg price $15.99, 20% Wellness discount)
  • 3 Nature Made Fish Oil (1200 mg, 100 ct) $8.79 each (reg price $10.99, 20% Wellness discount)
  • Used one $4 Fish Oil coupon (Feb. All You magazine), five $2 coupons (1/2 SS) and two $3 RA coupons (one was from Jan, one from Feb)
  • Paid with $20 Gift of Savings certificate, $20 Resolution Rewards (from last month), $16 in UP's and $1.08 cash
Got back two $16 UP's ($16 WYB $30 of Nature Made C0Q10 or Fish Oil vitamins) and two $10 UP's (Heart Healthy promo, $10 UP WYB $30 and a second $10 UP when you reach $50 of select items - valid until 3/26). That makes this transaction a $6.86 profit. Also, all the items I bought count towards the Winter Rewards program ($20 UP WYB $100 of select items, valid until 2/26) so now I have $76.67 towards the $20 UP and it was all better than free! I'll finish that reward out next week by buying the free Stayfree.

BONUS - the Heart Healthy UP's are valid until 4/9!

Then at another store, I did the same deal on DBF's card (vitamins on the right). The selection of vitamins was different, so I had to play around with the math a bit. You have to get $60 total in vitamins to get both UP's and there are tons of different types of fish oil, all at different prices. The optimum scenario would be to just buy the C0Q10 vitamins and use $5 coupons, but I think it might be hard to find enough in stock at any one store to do that.
  • 6 GE Extra Soft White Light Bulbs (4 pk) $1.99 each, got back six $1.99 UP (Limit 6) = FREE
  • Nature Made C0Q10 Vitamins (30 mg, 30 ct) $10.39 (reg price $12.99, 20% Wellness discount)
  • 4 Nature Made Odorless Fish Oil Vitamins (60 ct) $9.19 (reg price $11.49, 20% Wellness discount)
  • Nature Made Omega-3 Fish Oil (180 ct) $13.59 (reg price $16.99, 20% Wellness discount)
  • Krazy Glue $2.39 (reg $2.99)
  • Used $6 C0Q10 coupon and $3 coupon for any vitamins (both from Feb. All You magazine), four $2 coupons (1/2 SS) and $3 RA coupon (this was from Feb, I never watched the video for this from Jan on this account - bummer!)
  • Paid with $20 Gift of Savings certificate, $20 Resolution Rewards (from last month), $14 in UP's and $2.08 cash
That makes this transaction a $7.86 profit.

Using Up Some Purina Cats

ShopRite - used up most of my $5 Purina catalinas that I've earned the past couple weeks. I just have a couple more to go

First transaction
  • 4 cases Deer Park water three at $3.33 each and fourth at $3.99, got back $5 catalina (WYB 4) and will use these (plus some TGIF snacks from RA last week) for a $7 Budweiser NBPR rebate on $14+ of various items (29503) = $1.97 for four cases of water!
  • Friskies cat treats $1.79
  • Used $5 catalina and $10 catalina, total was $0.91
Then I bought:
  • Blueberries $2.49
  • Freihofer Bread $2
  • Friskies cat food $0.52
  • Used $5 cat, total was $0.05
Then I bought:
  • 2 Simply Napkins $0.77 each
  • 2 V8 Splash Juices $1.99 each, used $1 off 2 coupon (1/2 SS) = $2.98 or $1.49 each
  • Friskies cat food $0.52
  • Used $5 cat, total was $0.36
Then I bought:
  • Golden delicious apples $3.17 ($0.99/lb)

I went to a couple different stores and did no more than two transactions at any one store.

Rainchecks are Awesome

Walgreens
  • 6 Maalox $5.09 each (reg price $6.79), used six $5 coupons (1/9 SS) and got back $10 RR (WYB $30, monthly deal) = $9.46 profit
  • Omega Smart Ultimate Super Critical Fish Oil (30 ct) $10, used $2 coupon and will get back $10 via rebate (form prints at checkout) = $2 profit
  • 3 Red Baron Pizzas $2.50 each - I would have bought more but this was all the store had. I'll pick up another two and then use these for a $6 Budweiser NBPR rebate on $10.01 of pizza
  • Used $5 RR and $10 RR, total was $1.04
Got a rebate receipt for the Omega for two reasons. First is that so I can use the main receipt for the pizza rebate and second is that so the $2 coupon I used on the Omega won't show up.

CVS - had rainchecks from a sale ages ago for the Olay Pro X cleanser to be $10 with a $5 EB. Since there was also a sale this week, I thought it would be the perfect week to redeem them.
  • Olay Pro X Cleanser $10 (normally $20), used $3 coupon (12/12 RP) and got back $5 EB plus $5 EB (raincheck) = $3 profit
  • Crest ProHealth or ProHealth Complete Rinse (16.9 oz) $3.99, got back $3.99 EB (Limit 2) = FREE
  • Xtra Laundry Detergent $1.49, used $1 coupon (prints in espanol) = $0.49
Bought the Olay once on each of my three cards, bought two bottles of Xtra and two bottles of Crest. I also picked up two Reese's hearts ($0.50 each) as a snack for DBF and I. The Olay cleansers will finish out a $20 Olay rebate that I started ages ago.

One of the stores would not manually print the EB's for me since there was a sale on Olay stuff this week. Has anyone had any experience with overlapping raincheck and current sales? I've never run into a problem with this issue before.
A rare picture of Mousse! He was snuggling in his favorite bed and DBF covered him with one of my jackets. He poked his head out and stayed like that for ages. So cute

Come take a peek

Time for stockpile pictures! Its been a while since I've posted some shots and my stockpile room is quite a bit messier than it was in July. C'est la vie.
I have a bunch of pasta sauce crouching behind the Campbells and some Crystal Lite next to the Ziplocs. I'm hoping for a good sale on CL soon, I'm getting low and I drink it almost every day.
The top shelf is a bit of a catch-all - an extra hair dryer, candles, hair stylers and sponges.
Laundry stuff, fabric sprays, mouthwash and dishwashing detergent - those all go together, right?
I love my dumpster-dived set of drawers! Its so handy. The top shelf is razors, vitamins and lotions. Shelf 2 is tamps and pantiliners and shelf 3 is cold medicine.
That plastic bag is full of loofahs. I love loofahs and the RA sale a month or so back was the first time I'd seen a freebie sale on them so I loaded up. The plastic shelves are pretty much just full of tampons. The Busch boxes have kitty litter and trash bags in them.
Ah, my paper good table. This has definitely gotten a little out of control with the great sales lately. Behind the tissues on the left are a bunch of toilet paper and a storage box full of face wipes (Garnier, Olay, etc). Behind the napkins are paper towel rolls. The stack of diapers on the right has a whole other stack behind it and the black reusable bag is full of Tugaboos diapers. And nope, not preggers - just stocking up for some day when I might be. Diapers are pricey man!
Soda, more detergent, bottled water and plastic cups.
Poo/conditioner, more Ziplocs, toothpaste & brushes behind it and hiding behind some shampoo - a storage tote of deodorant.
DBF's shelf - razors (in the brown tote), deo, shaving cream. Tugaboos overflowing from that blue tote, my shaving creams, Dove soap, lotion and body wash.

Thank you for visiting. Come again soon!

Gigi the Ferocious

CVS - wanted to take advantage of the $10 Physician's Formula coupons I got from the scanner last week. I also picked up a prescription and another coupon printed on the receipt. Bonus!
  • Physician's Formula Talc Free Mineral Correcting Primer $10.99, used $3 peelie coupon, $10 CVS scanner coupon and will submit for $10.95 rebate (must include TMF sticker from package to qualify) = $12.96 profit
  • Blink Tears $7.99, used $4 peelie coupon (adjusted down to $3.50 b/c I used too many EB's and my total was low - this was the last coupon scanned) and got back $4 EB (Limit 1) and also back $7.99 EB (this was a raincheck deal from a while back) = $7.50 profit
  • Used $0.89 EB and $1.59 EB, total was $0.77
Then on my card:
  • Physician's Formula 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum $10.99, used $3 peelie coupon, $10 CVS scanner coupon and will submit for $10.95 rebate (must include TMF sticker from package to qualify) = $12.96 profit
  • HIDDEN DEAL - Boiron Chestal Honey Cough Syrup (4.2 oz) $5, used $1 coupon (this beeped) and got back $5 EB (Limit 1) = $1 profit
  • Blink Tears $7.99, used $4 peelie coupon and got back $4 EB (Limit 1) = FREE/$0.01 profit
  • Used $1.59 EB, total was $5.16
For your entertainment, here is a random shot of Gigi snuggling with the feather end of her favorite tiger print toy. The other day, she was chowing down on breakfast when some of the maintenance guys started plowing the parking lot outside. They startled her and she ran to find somewhere to hide. She settled for underneath the coffee table and once she felt safe, she let out a low growl for them. You get 'em Gigi!

Back to Staples

Ok, so here's what I've learned about Staples the past couple days. It used to be that you could use Staples Rewards to pay for other items that give back rewards and everything would be hunky-dory. Now, if you use rewards to pay for items that give out rewards, your rewards certificate will only be for your out of pocket cost. Total bummer! You can however, use rewards towards rebate items. So what I've decided to do is rebuy the totes, paying with cash and returning the set (and other rewards items) that I bought on Sunday. I'm not 100% sure how the return will go, but I think the store will give me back some kind of reward money to be used in the store. Whether that's a gift card or another reward certificate, I haven't a clue.

If you want to check the status of your rewards, you can do so on Staples' website here.
  • Avery 8160 White Address Labels (750/box) $9.99, used $3 coupon and should get back $9.99 in Staples Rewards = $3 profit
  • Staples Legal/Letter Tote $8, will get back $8 in Staples Rewards = FREE
  • Used 10% off a single item coupon (took off $1 for Avery), total was $15.18

  • Gillette Fusion Proglide Manual or Power Razor System $9.99, used $4 coupon (12/26 P&G) and got back $5 RR = $0.99
  • Holiday candy $0.12 (clearanced)
  • Used $5 RR and $10 RR, total was $1.82
The irony of buying a candy bar and an appetite control spray in the same transaction is not lost on me.

I did this deal for the first time last night, but I only bought 8 packages, so no cat. I went back tonight to Customer Service and they rang up a 9th one for me and scanned something fancy to get the cat to print. Hoorah! That was much easier than I'd anticipated.

Walgreens

Huge Sinex Profit

In case you haven't heard, the tissue deal at Rite Aid is now limited to three per card. If you've done the deal already this week, you're done.
Walgreens - since DBF loves the Gillette razors, I want to pick up as many as I can this week.
  • 4 NyQuil/Dayquil Sinex (20 ct) $5 each, used four $4 coupons (12/26 P&G) and got back $10 RR (WYB $20, monthly deal until 3/26) = $6 profit
  • Gillette Fusion Proglide Manual or Power Razor System $9.99, used $4 coupon (12/26 P&G) and got back $5 RR = $0.99
  • WAG Candy $0.49
  • Used $10 RR, total was $1.22
Did this deal twice more. On my third store, I bought two Dayquil & two Nyquil but didn't get any rewards. I have no idea why! The RR for the razor printed, but not for the Sinex. The manager rang up another free after RR item for $10 and gave me that RR. Then I bought:
  • Gillette Fusion Proglide Manual or Power Razor System $9.99, used $4 coupon (12/26 P&G) and got back $5 RR = $0.99
  • Ramen noodles $0.39
  • Used $5 RR (from Gillette - its rolling!), total was $2.08
Did this deal again, then I bought:
  • 4 WAG shredded cheeses $1.50 each
  • Used $5 RR, total was $1

Never Again J&J

This is why I will never again do a rebate through Johnson & Johnson. After I received the samples they sent the other day, I emailed them AGAIN to find out where my rebate might be. (this is for the Neutrogena Clinical rebate that I mailed to them in JULY!)

Dear frugalsuz:
Thank you for contacting the Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. Information Center. It is always important to hear from our consumers, and we appreciate the time you have taken to contact us.

With regard to your recent inquiry, we do apologize that you haven’t received your rebate. There have been a high number of rebate submissions, please be patient with this process. We are working diligently to fulfill your promotion. We hope that this information will be helpful.

Again, thank you for your interest in our company. Should you have any comments or questions in the future, please contact us via our website www.neutrogena.com or by calling our toll-free number, 1800 582-4048. Our specialists are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. EST and will be happy to assist you.

The Information Center

This is the line that really pisses me off:
"There have been a high number of rebate submissions, please be patient with this process."

I don't care how many other people submitted for this rebate! If a company puts a rebate out there, especially for such a high priced item ($35) they sure as hell better be ready to pay up. And considering this rebate has been pending for almost six months now, I think I've been pretty patient. Curse you J&J!!

Baby Its Cold Outside

We were supposed to get another foot or so of snow overnight and into this morning, so I went to bed expecting to have a snow day today. Alas, the snow had the nerve to stop early in the morning and the plow guys did their jobs much too well, so my plans were dashed. I was so looking forward to a day of lounging around in my sweats.

Is there anything as disconcerting...

...as walking into a CVS intent on buying cases of soda, only to find there are no carts available? Sigh.
CVS - my new card. This finished out a deal I started yesterday on soda:
  • 3 cases Diet Pepsi $10, used $2/$10 purchase of fruit, nuts or sugar free items (CVS coupon found in 50 Million Pound Challenge Book)
  • Kellogg's Smart Start Cereal $4.99, will submit for TMF rebate found on box = FREE
  • Used $10 EB, total was $3.69
Got back $10 EB for spending $20 on Pepsi (Limit 2). Since I broke my purchases into two trips so I could use two $2 coupons (one per customer), I only spent $6 after EB's for six cases of soda - $1 a case! (not including tax) Ain't bad at all!

Since it was such a great deal, I did it again on DBF's card (at another store):
  • 4 cases Diet Pepsi CHERRY!!! $13.33, used $2/$10 purchase of fruit, nuts or sugar free items (CVS coupon found in 50 Million Pound Challenge Book) - since this store had four cases of cherry, I bought four at once. I LOVE this flavor and CVS hardly ever carries it
  • Used $10 EB, total was $2.13
At another store:
  • 2 cases Diet Pepsi $6.66
  • 4 bags CVS brand dried fruit
  • Used $2/$10 purchase of fruit, nuts or sugar free items (CVS coupon found in 50 Million Pound Challenge Book), total was $9.28
Got back $10 EB for buying $20 of Pepsi

Rite Aid
  • 6 Motrin PM's (20 ct) $3 each, used three $6/2 coupons (1/2 SS) and got back six $2 UP's = $12 profit
  • 4 Special K Cereals $4.79 each, BOGO sale, used two BOGO coupons (sign up for the plan first) and got back four $1 UP's (monthly deal) = $4 profit *Count toward Buy & Save promo
  • 4 Barilla Pastas $5, got back $1 UP (WYB 4) and four $1 UP's (monthly deal) = FREE
  • Used $2 UP and $3 UP, total was zero

Befuddled by RiteAid

Rite Aid
  • 4 Tylenol Precise Heat Patch or Cream $5 each, used two $5 off 2 coupons (12/12 RP) and got back four $3 UP's = $2 profit
  • Gain Detergent $0.89, used $1 coupon (P&G coupon booklet received via rebate) = $0.11 profit
  • 4 Campbell's Chunky Soups $5, got back $1 UP
  • 4 Special K Cereals $4.79 each, BOGO sale, used two BOGO coupons (sign up for the plan first) = FREE *Got back four $1 monthly UP's (expire 2/5) but I have no idea if they're from the soup or the cereal
  • Used four $3 UP's and two $1 UP's, total was $0.95
At this point, I was pretty sure the soup was producing the UP's and since it was free after UP and also counting towards the $20 Buy & Save promo, I picked up some more after work:
  • 8 Campbell's Chunky Soups $5, got back two $1 UP's (too lazy to drag all these upstairs from the car - soup is heavy!)
  • Kellogg's Smart Start Cereal $4.99, will submit for TMF rebate (on box) = FREE, Special K cereal $4.79 - FREE with BOGO sale, got back $1 UP
  • Used three $3 UP's and five $1 UP's, total was $0.99. Since I only got three $1 UP's here, I'm thinking the UP's from earlier were from the Kelloggs, not the Campbells.
Got back my $20 Resolution Reward on my account

CVS
  • 3 cases Diet Pepsi $10, used $2 off $10 coupon (for fruit, nuts or sugar free items, found inside 50 Million Pound Challenge booklet found in stores) - once I spend another $10, I'll get back $10 EB for spending $20 on Pepsi
  • Milk $2.29
  • Used $10 EB, total was $0.99

  • Used $5 UP, three $3 UP's and seven $1 UP's, total was $0.80, overall profit $4.19
DBF got this package in the mail the other day from Neutrogena. Would you believe we still have not received the money back for the Neutrogena Clinical Kit? I sent away for that rebate on 7/13/10 and have contacted them several times about the rebate. So instead of sending money, they send free items? I don't think so! I want the $35 we're owed! Guess they'll be hearing from me again. I have had such issues with this rebate and a couple from Aveeno that I will never again do a rebate through Johnson & Johnson. Never.

Trip Down Memory Lane

I've been going through a lot of my older pictures lately. Wanna take a look with me?
Awww, Mousse was so tiny when I got him. I'd just moved into my very own apartment three months before, ended a long and abusive relationship and was loving my new-found freedom. I'd been thinking about adopting one or two cats for several months and then I found Gigi and Mousse online. Mousse's original name was Simeon but my Mom said he was the color of chocolate mousse and the name just stuck. Gigi was Gigi when I met her and it fit her perfectly.
I wonder what they were looking at! Gigi and Mousse aren't siblings, but they'd been raised and fostered together so the thought of adopting only one never entered my mind. Gigi has some medical issues (nothing major) so they'd been fostered for quite a while before I found them. They were nine months when I took them home from the pet store. I used to be able to fit them both into one carrier - that was always fun getting them inside! (NOT!) I'd just get Gigi in, scoop Mousse up to squeeze him in as well and Gigi would escape. So then I'd grab her, wrestle her in the carrier only to have Mousse make a break for it. Good times.
I'd just been petting Gigi before I took this shot and you can see the imprints of my fingers in her fur. They both LOVED this kitty condo and used to take turns squeezing inside and then turning around so they could spy on each other. That was also back when they used to play with each other. Now Mousse terrorizes Gigi most of the time. Little punk.
Ahh, the days when I used to be able to feed them at the same time! Mousse became very dominant as he got older and nowadays he'll growl at Gigi and eat all the food if I let him. They're on different prescription foods now so they eat in separate rooms anyway. Mousse looks part-monkey with that super long tail!
My sisters and I playing on the driveway. I do believe I'm sporting some pretty sweet tan velcro shoes (I'm in the middle)!
My youngest sister was the most adorable baby on the planet. Just look at that smile...and that sweet carpet!
I love this shot of my Mom, me and my youngest sister. Since she was the one usually taking the pictures, I rarely find pictures of her, especially from when I was younger. She still doesn't like to be photographed. Looks like it was a beautiful fall day. I bet she was yelling at my dad in her head to hurry up and take the picture already!
I wonder what I was so happy about in this shot? (I'm the one with the goofy grin on the left) My nose is so scrunched that my eyes have all but disappeared! My sister (left) looks like she's giving it all she's got to get out of the picture but my Dad's got a firm hold on her, and some pretty awesome glasses too. My cousin's hammin' it up for the camera. Looking at him in his farm shirt and overalls, you'd never guess he'd grow up to be the tattoo covered guy that he is today.

Don't you just love old pictures? Happy Friday y'all!

Crab Apple Old Ladies

My coupon order arrived in today's mail so I scooted around after work to get my shopping done. We're expecting another snow storm tomorrow so I didn't want to take the chance of getting snowed in and not being able to get everything done. Plus I cannot stand to shop on Saturday when all the stores are jam packed. When I got home, my sister came over and we watched Revenge of Kitty Galore - HILARIOUS! We both have wanted to see it for a while, but I was a little embarrassed to see it in the theaters.
CVS
  • 5 Wisk Detergents $5 each, used five $2 coupons (1/2 RP) and got back $10 (for spending $25, Limit 1) = $5 or $1 each
  • Used $0.50 EB (quarterly spending), $3 EB and $9.99 EB, total was $3.22
Repeated this deal on my newer card but the store only had four bottles. I'll have to pick up a fifth one before the week is out.

Walgreens - was hoping to also pick up some Electrasol but the two stores I checked out where totally out of stock. Did this twice:
  • Omega Factor 3 (Soft gel 60's) $10, used $3 coupon (found inside package) and got back $10 RR = $3 profit
Rite Aid
  • 2 Darice Foam Animals $1.83 each ($2.29 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), got back $5 UP (WYB 2, valid until 1/22) = $1.34 profit
  • Gas-X Prevention (18 - 20 ct) $4.79 ($5.99 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), used $4 coupon (12/12 SS) and will get back $2 (SCR #17) = $1.21 profit *Also counts for Buy & Save promo
  • 4 Airwick Compact iMotions $9.99 each, BOGO sale, used four $3 coupons (1/2 SS) and 2 Airwick Freshmatic Ultra Spray Kits $12.99 each, BOGO sale, used two $4 coupons (1/2 SS) and got back three $3 UP's = $3.97 *Also counts for Buy & Save promo. Was thinking I'd also get back a $10 UP for a monthly deal (WYB $30) but I think only the bigger kits counted. That's ok though, I spent $3.97 but put put $32.97 towards that $20 Buy & Save promo
  • Used three $5 UP's and $3 UP, total was $1.99
On DBF's card:
  • Gas-X Prevention (18 - 20 ct) $4.79 ($5.99 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), used $4 coupon (12/12 SS) and will get back $2 (SCR #17) = $1.21 profit *Also counts for Buy & Save promo
  • 4 Airwick Compact iMotions $9.99 each, BOGO sale, used four $3 coupons (1/2 SS) and 2 Airwick Freshmatic Ultra Spray Kits $13.99 each (lavender scent is pricier apparently), BOGO sale, used two $4 coupons (1/2 SS) and got back three $3 UP's = $4.97 *Also counts for Buy & Save promo
  • Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers $15.99 ($19.99 reg price, 20% Wellness discount), used $2 RA coupon, $3 coupon (printable, no longer available) and got back $2 UP = $8.99 *Also counts towards Buy & Save promo
  • Used $3/$20 coupon and $1 non-prescription purchase coupon, two $5 UP's and $10 UP, total was $3.54
I now have $77.38 on my card and $85.49 on DBF's card towards the $100 I need for the Resolution Rewards/Buy & Save promo. Once I hit $100, I'll get a $20 UP.
ShopRite - was so happy to find so many of the treats at this store. I left a whole bunch on the shelf even after I bought all these.
  • 12 Purina Cheweez Treats $0.95 each ($1.19 sale price) - since I bought more than four of the same variety, four were $0.95 and the rest were $1.19, used three $4/4 treats coupons (11/14 RP)
  • 18 Chef Michael's Dog Foods $0.40 each ($0.90 sale price)
  • Used $2.50 catalina, total was $7.46 and I got back $30 in cats (for spending $30 on Purina items) = $20.04 profit
I wish you all could have seen the crab-apple that was behind me in line as I bought this stuff. I knew the Purina coupons were going to beep, so I went to a regular aisle, rather than an express one. As I was putting my items on the belt, a white haired older gal barreled her cart up the aisle (managing to knock it into BOTH sides of the aisle), shouted at the cashier to put up a divider between my order and hers (I grabbed it for her) and then stood there huffing while I was rung up. She had to be in her 80's and you could tell she just didn't care anymore what people thought of her. As the cashier was entering the coupons (which took all of two minutes), the lady yells "Shouldn't you call a manager? I don't want to stand here all day!" I chuckled under my breath as the cashier replied "But why? I'm putting everything in now." The cashier stole a quick glance at me and we both smiled. Some people!
